Season Ticket Pricing as a result of Stadium Expansion

On no count does City come anyway near the worst
Comparing us to other Prem teams is not the best barometer because ALL Prem tickets are overpriced. Football matches, for what you get, have no need to be priced any higher than £35.

I've just done a little search on the web and Arctic Monkeys tickets (they'd be on stage about as long as a footy match) are between £27-38; to go to the pictures it will cost £6.80 at the Odeon in town (for about as long as a footy match lasts); to go to a show at the Palace you can get adult tickets for £20-22.50 (for about as long as a footy match lasts). My ticket for the Super League Grand Final last week was £30 and tickets for an upcoming Rugby League World Cup match at Warrington's ground (Samoa v NZ) are £20 for standing in the "vocal" stand on Buckley Street and £30 for seating in the main stand (for about as long as a footy match lasts).

It costs as much to go and watch Hyde FC as it does many Bundesliga games. Bayern Blade has said on here that it costs him more to go and watch Sheffield United than it does Bayern Munchen.

Something's not right with football ticket pricing in England. City have been great with the idea of introducing £299 SCs in the future and Norwich at home is just £26. but i must say if a game against the European champions doesn't sell-out then the game is overpriced.

All a lot of people want to do is go and watch their football team home and away. and unfortunately it's too expensive to go and do that. Which isn't right. Up and down the country fans are being ripped off and clubs should be doing more of what City are doing in some part to help the fans out.

The club state that they desire to keep and I quote " the hard core support from Manchester" despite losing 2000 per year, and are " looking at sound and noise levels hoping to improve this , to that end are bringing in acoustic experts"( same as the scum).

Thomas cook are bringing in groups from the east , Japan and a Belgian delegation to watch vinny.

My seat is going up to over a grand .......!

The wifi facility will be there, bands outside etc etc etc.

We have won the title, cups, beat the shit in the derby etc etc

We've got New York city as our second club.

All superb stuff it's impossible to disagree.!!!

But here's the thing..... I will not pay 1k to watch football end of story. + travel+ beers etc

Football used to be a hobby that cost a few quid ,it's now turned into an event 20 times a season that is akin to going to a stadium music gig event .where fans are" monetized " to squeeze every penny out of them.

Things are changing and times are changing that much is clear, we have City fans slagging other city fans because they don't earn enough to go to matches....( sounds like arrogant scum fans to me tbh).

My ticket will go to some corporate or " tourist" and I'm sure they will not improve the atmosphere.

So to the ones slagging other city fans off ...... Enjoy the future you'll be sat there in your own smug world with your new best friends .

Well said Caveman and Deadlyassasin

City introduced the Finance deals on SC's last season which is superb and helped me alot.
We will have a better picture if or when the club release numbers of how many £299 seats they are prepared to offer.
I don't think this will happen though, so great we offer a very well priced SC but what is the clubs average price of a SC?
And how does this compare with other Rivals average prices for SC's?

In more recent times our owners have been superb. Sheikh Mansour/ADUG have invested heavily and have made dreams come true with events such as winning the Premier League which had me on the Pitch (for some reason) haha crying my heart out.
But don't think for one second myself and many other blues won't question what the club are doing just because they might invest in some star signings and win trophies. This is a business for them and City is an investment with profits soaring for companies such as Etihad which have seen profits soar since they became attached to this football club.

City will buy a player for say £25m and if the seller refuses, they'll up the price to £27m without even blinking. £2m to the people behind City right now isn't much. it's one players salary for the season.

Yet to you, me and the majority of Blues in the stadium, £2m is a life changer, we dream of winning this amount when we play the lottery.

The point I'm making is if or when my SC goes up from say £580 to £740 I'll notice the difference drastically and I'm left wondering: ok, can I afford to go anymore?

Everyone should have the right to support their local club, or the club they choose to support for whatever reason.
This includes attending matches. Far too many people far more unfortunate than I am have been priced out from the Modern game.

is this fair?
People not even affording to go and watch League Two Sides, nevermind a Premier League super club like City.

The counter argument is: if you can't afford it, that's life. or go and get a better job.

But not everyone can get a "better" job for many reasons.
And yes life is unfair and we can't always get what we want, but to me Football is the game of the people, it's our national sport and when you hear about people not being able to attend matches at their local club due to the cost of tickets - you know that something is wrong in the modern game here in The UK

Germany has it right on club ownership, pricing and cost of transport. something The FA/Clubs should be taking note of and learning from.

This is spot on - It's not just the low paid that struggle to pay the current fees. Once you have the season ticket which is going up significantly every season you also have to pay for cup games which if they fall wrong can be upto £200 a month extra for a couple of people say (father and son). This is hard work for most people not just low paid.

Why do you think league cup and FA cup games struggle to sell out - Its because the game is getting to expensive.

Sick of people comparing us with say arse - They are in london were pay is significantly more on average than the north west. yes we are probably on a par with the Rags but thats because they also rip off their supporters and have the demand so don't care.

If you look at the surrounding areas of the ground I expect many are on less than average pay and would be welcome - they don't have to be tourist.

It's about time owners of clubs started to look at the longer term picture - football is flavour of the month now and especially at Cioty but things can change very quickly.

Where do I start. First of all FA Cup & League Cup games don't sell out and this is despite the Club pitching most games at £15/20, hardly a rip off is it? Secondly we are not on a par with the rags they are more expensive in almost every department, ticket prices, merchandise etc. Are you seriously suggesting that the Club don't look at the long term picture with everything that is going on with the new Training Academy, Stadium Expansion and the soon to be announced developments on the Collar Site. I do wish people would stop slagging off the "tourists" & corporates, if they choose to support City then that should be welcomed by all of us, they don't have to roll up and spend there money. But it sure does help us when it comes to FFP compliance. Having said all that I can fully appreciate some people struggle when it comes to choosing what they spend their disposable income on and if some people are eventually priced out of attending football then that will be a sad day. But lets at least applaud the Club in trying its best to make it easier/cheaper for the supporters to attend and long may that continue.

It certainly was not my intention to slag corporates or tourists off just using the " tags" to identify certain newcomers.

To be honest I'm not bothered who buys my ticket once I stop buying it ,because as I said I won't be there.

Just trying to feedback the point that if City are worried already about atmosphere/acoustics wait till the new customers arrive and see how it is affected then.

Personally I'd prefer a rolling monthly direct debit - £30 to £40 every month. that would be £360 to £480 a year.
