semi final trouble

Listen I've read some football hooligan books. Football hooligans never and I mean never attack anyone who isn't another football hooligan.
In fact they are so chivalrous and so strong is their code of honour they would stop fighting to let an old lady pass.
I'll be wearing a City scarf in the confidence that, win or lose, Manchester United fans will give me nothing but good natured plucky banter.

Never happen Judge. They were hitting women and kids after the CC semi at our place

Does nobody think that sometimes the violence is a good thing.

For me the threat of violence adds to the derby. If it was all sunshines and red and blues drinking together with a bit of gentle banter it would be shit and completely destroy the atmosphere, I can have that at most away days that aren't a derby. The threat of violence in the air just adds to the tension and creates an atmosphere which makes you want to beat them all the more. That's probably partly why the atmosphere had been diluted with more woman watching the game now. I do think it's right that when woman and children attend the game they shouldn't be caught up in violence but I miss what it used to be like. That's why I never miss a trip to Leeds, Millwall or Cardiff. The atmosphere there is better than most away days and thats because of the violence.

Can't agree with this. If everybody thought like this it would be absolute carnage down there. It's really important that the sensible types on both sides win the day otherwise the day could easily be ruined. They'll be many woman and children at this game, many of whom will be looking forward to it for weeks and they deserve to be able to attend in safety. I hope the police take sensible precautions (ie United OR City Service Stations en route), but there is a limit to what the police can do. At the end of the day we will have to police ourselves. Fingers crossed.

all it takes is a couple of dick heads singing "why dont city fuck off home" or sum1 to sing "munich" outside wembley and it will start from there. i for one wont be able to stand there and listen to them scummy twats singing "why dont city fuck off home"

I have no doubt there is going to be an awful lot of trouble. The idiots on both sides will be out in force.

I really can see this being a very bad day all round, win or lose.

I agree that their shouldn't be violence when so many woman and children are in attendance. My main point was that I could never get my head around people travelling with United fans to the game. How can you scream passionatley at united fans in before and after the game you're meeting up and just being friendly with them. Violence is what makes the atmosphere at derby days so special for me. If I knew that all the United fans were just going to merrily drink with me after and say the best team won then it would completely ruin the intensity of it.

There's a thread saying about inflatables on the main page. Inflatables to wembley against our bitter rivals? fucking hell! If anything I'd rather see flares and burning sticks than inflatables and red and blues mingling together.

Your missing one crucial point.
We will be meeting 2 sets of fans, United from wherever and The
Cockney Reds.
The Cockney Reds hate us, one, because we are City, two because in their
eyes we are Northern C***s .
They will be out mob handed to cause as much trouble as they can.

I hope he was.

Fully agree that cunts are cunts and will go for anyone when they're charged up. Safety in numbers if I get a ticket or I watch in the Pub. End of.
