The first half was a great performance. Alas for the second half that was poor. It was there for all to see that they would come out in the second half and start on the front foot, why where we not ready for it. The game should have been put to bed within the first 30mins. , yet again we missed hat full of chances. We can't keep doing this, especially if we come up against one of the bigger teams. Chances like this have got to be put away at the first time of asking.

This game should have been won by at least another 3 goals. I hope that it won't come back and we lose first place on goal difference.

Sorry pal, I am going to have take issue with you here. The second half was a fantastic display of defensive control the Pep way. Did you ever feel that we would end up with anything other than 3 points? I used to always worry about even the more comprehensive of victories going wrong before the full time whistle, but not in this game. It is game management and I was almost as pleased with the second half than I was the first.

brilliant display, total control, at no point was I concerned about the game not being ours.

David silva was outstanding, he seems to be better at finishing lately to. LaPorte reads the game so well. Jesus is a handful for defenders. Then Bernardo comes on andf shows why he is probably our best player this season so far.

Has to be a full house at home, win and we are through and strong position for top.

Said the same last night. How anyone who watches us can think the second half was poor I have no idea.

Our attack will get the plaudits always (even when they miss so many chances), but the defensive side of our game was brilliant starting with the forward players, especially the second half game management, which allowed players to rest, and yet still support our attacking intent.

Goal different is last resort after head to head record and goals scored,it's about the points

One of the most pleasing things about this season is the amount of clean sheets that we're amassing. I haven't sat down and compared with the same stage as last season, but we're at 4 out 6 matches in September (all competitions) and 3 out of 4 (all competitions) in October. We're the same free-scoring team that we were, but with a steely discipline at the back. I think there's a case to be made out that this team is possibly better than last year's, mad as that sounds. It also leads me to think that we could in fact win the CL this year. And that's the first time that I've thought that, since we started re-qualifying for it again (we did qualify for the 68-69 edition, don't forget!)
