Shamima Begum

And round the houses we go. She doesn’t have a Bangladeshi passport, she can apply for one, which the Bangladeshi government has already said she would be unsuccessful.

She’ll stay in limbo until we are forced to take her back as no one can become stateless.

She‘ll then stand trial and likely be imprisoned for some time.

That's what we should do, put her on trial and if guilty lock her up for a considerable time.

She can live on the moon for all i care
That would be the ideal solution, but unfortunately in spite of the posturing by our government, international law will mean she'll end up back here and there'll be little anyone can do about it.

She has a passport of a different country as well, let them take her
Bangladesh! They didn’t want her what a surprise?!
Don’t think she has ever set foot in Bangladesh. Would we take someone like her if for example she was born in Canada but held dual citizenship with the UK and the Canadians said she’s the UK’S problem ? We’ve deported serious criminals back to their own countries , so I can’t see why we expect different rules to be applied to her .

How do we get evidence one way or another from syria ? She will walk and she knows it
I don't believe she will, all I am saying is if there is a legal way we could hand her over to Bangladesh we should, but if Bangladesh say no deal we should try her and make an example of her.

Public opinion in cases like this mean a whole lot, I genuinely don't want her here even in a prison for a long time but we have to follow the law as it stands.

And if Bangladesh accepted her and said she has no case to answer then what ? At least if we accept her she stands trial .

Correct .... we should honour the laws and agreements we've signed... and not try and avoid them cos we dont like the consequences

if we don't now like the laws and agreements we've signed we should go through the proper channels to change them ..
