Personally I'm very much towards the left politically, but I don't really understand the uproar here. Nations should be strongly discouraged from making anyone stateless. However, the British government can only act for itself.... Its not and never should be within it's power to determine what actions the Bangladesh authorities might or might not take, thus Britain revoking her citizenship, doesn't make her stateless, because she has another option, conversely Bangladesh not approving her request for citizenship also doesn't make her stateless because they can't determine what the UK would do. Yes it sucks to be Ms Begum, but sometimes life isn't fair, especially in a war zone, the sad part for me is you see all the suffering there if she had done nothing.... she would have not added to it.

The Kurds in the north have started deporting women in their camps that they do not have enough evidence to prosecute. Three arrived back in Sweden last week via Turkey. Thinking that Begum is going to be left in Syria for ever is unrealistic - because the Syrians don't want her and she isn't Syrian.
