Should jobs like police officer have fitness levels?

Its a uniformed, disciplined service so absolutely yes there should be a minimum fitness requirement tested regularly.

yes,62 yo firefighter would have lots of experience, and Anthony Joshua is about 19 stone
Should re-sign Glynn Pardoe and Colin Bell to back up Fernandinho and Mendy, they have lots of experience.

And we should get our 19 stone policeman to go a few rounds in the next world heavyweight bout.

Yes of course they should do. As should firefighters. Stupid thing is that with pension changes in jobs like these the people doing them will also be working to an older age. Do you want a 62 year old firefighter and a 19 stone policeman attending your emergency situation?
Judging by their response level and speed to various situations I have seen - theft, bag-snatching, even a drugged potential rapist roaming the corridors - doesn't really matter.
Given the cuts to police numbers you won't see them anyway.

There is an annual fitness test; which is a bleep test.
All officers have to do this.

You only have to get to level 5.4 so as long as you keep fit, it’s no drama.

Specialised roles have higher levels to achieve i.e. firearms officers have to reach almost double I think

Pay peanuts you get (overweight) monkeys.

The calibre of officer has fallen dramatically in recent years. No one with much about them wants to do the job,and those that are already in are trying to get out.Its a fucking shambles and its little surprise the recruits are not of a quality required.

Would you do the job for less than 2k a month?
