Should we be looking at new kit deal?- new update pg34 Chelsea NIKE DEAL

If the club wants to sell more shirts, it will have to come upon a better designs then the1that we have now for the 1st strip, to my mind it is awful and I don't think much of the 2nd or 3rd kit as well. The club needs to get back to plain shirts for all 3 kits. My favourite for the 2nd kit would be a black and red stripes with black shorts, and for the 3rd kit either a black or a dark maroon coloured shirt with matching shorts.
In the big world of shirt sales I don't think it has anything to do with the design, only the badge on the front or the names on the back. This years kit sales may be less in Manchester but worldwide the designs will make little difference.

i would honestly lose money if it meant we got a proper shirt under umbro, not the shite we've got this year. I've barely seen anyone in manchester wearing this shirt, I've seen more people wearing older shirts.

One of Umbros problems were there materials. Great for fan wear, shite to play in.

maybe a balance of both then ? good material, but more traditional designs. nikes designs are random as anything and our kits are the same as everyone else's

No you didn't. You sold more shirts at a survey in Sports Direct than Real Madrid. Funnily enough that's not an accurate representation of global sales trends.

That sounds like the ridiculous stat released by Sports Direct a couple of years ago that 95% of shirts sold at their shops in Market Street and the Arndale were rag shirts and only 4%-5% City shirts. This was gleefully seized upon by rags to 'prove' that 95% of football fans in Manchester were rags and that City had no fans. These dullards were of course overlooking the fact that City's store on Market Street is barely a minute's walk from either SD store and that no self respecting Blue would ever buy a shirt from Ashley's Empire.

Chelsea now have the 3rd biggest kit deal in world tied with Bayern.
£60Million per season for next 15years eclipsing that of united. That i guess is down to the contract length, but never the less for me its frustrating...

I know we are way off in matching the kit deals these teams are getting....but i dream of the day where we blow all of them out of the water.....
But for now i am just hoping we atleast match these teams....

Bet you liverpool could be next, as they are due for renewal...

And we actually make 110 M pounds on kit sponsoring alone, 60M from Nike, 40M from Yokohama and 10M from Carabao, who sponsors our training kits
Don't you think you have been slightly lowballed by Nike, yes they are giving you 60 million a year now,but for the duration that the time you're on that deal within 8-10 years the likes of United Barca and Real's kit deals run out and they will be getting even more than they are getting now due to inflation and other clubs will see a massive hike in their deals due to market price from those clubs massive deals, and you will be stuck on 60 million a year for another 7-8 years.

Liverpool who have hardly won anything the last 10 years have nearly 18 months left on a 50 million a year deal with new Balance compared to what you have won the last 10 years you get a 10 million better deal in 2017 that runs for 15 years.I just don't think the deal is that impressive for such a long deal and the yearly figure, also Bayern have a 15 million a year deal and with them being German and Adidas being a massive share holder and on the board of Bayern they will renegotiate that deal to put Bayern amongst the best paid.

It was reported on a few LFC affiliated sites that Billy Hogan liverpool's commercial director was already negotiating a new kit deal last season,i don't think it will be Nike as they have signed this deal with you but i think it will be with New Balance or i could see Under Armour who challenging Nike's dominance in the USA and are making a big push into Football and would want one of the biggest clubs in the world on their football portfolio.

Nike have played a blinder here imho if you look at the bigger picture of this new deal.

I love the revisionist thinking on here re. Umbro. Yes; the 09/10 kits were things of beauty. But have people forgotten the 90s? Umbro foisted some hideous monstrosities on us.
