Silva or Ozil

Both on top form Silva without a doubt. But Ozil is very very good and very close if not even with silva.

Ozil is certainly worthy of world class status, he's a class act. I wouldn't replace Silva with anyone though, he makes us tick better than anyone and its been a privilege to watch him in a blue shirt. Granted last season wasn't his best, but it's fair to say he wasn't alone in that respect. So far this year he's been sublime, he carries on like he is and we win the league, I'm convinced of that.

Ozil has been in better form over the last 18 months, but in general i'd take Silva, he's harder working and is more involved in matches. Ozil provides a great cutting edge, but he doesn't get as involved in the grittier side of things meaning he can often be a peripheral player.

When both are given the free roles and ability to roam they are both class. I would say Silva has the ability to create his own space better than Ozil, he can just turn on a sixpence and create room for himself. Ozil has settled in very well, just like Silva did. I don't think you can honestly distinguish between the two.

I agree that Silva is better at turning on the ball. One of the game's finest at that.

I prefer Silva to Ozil, mainly because Silva for me is more elegant and pleasing to the eye in his approach. Silva also works harder defensively and has better stamina. Ozil might improve in this regard if he quits smoking ;-)).

Passing and overall vision, they are comparable. Not much in between them. Assist stats in the past few years may slightly favour Ozil, but that's because of the players who were finishing the passes, not to mention, his old team's strength relative to the rest of La Liga.

Considering that show seems to be filled with irate arsenal fans I can guess which way it'll go..

Hang on! The question is who is the best player in the Premier League, Silva or Ozil, yes? Not in the Bundesliga or La Liga or in Internationals.

Dave has several successful seasons in the EPL and has been quality for most of this time. he's started this season about the same as Ozil who nevertheless has been quality for just 5 games. How can this be an argument until Ozil has had a full season or two?

I would have Ozil, if I had to chose. He has this aura around him. He is Hollywood without being cockey. I think that there is a level of confidence that he brings to his teammates.

I love Silva though, one of the best players in the world without a doubt.

His movement means that even when off form, he contributes. He takes up the most challenging positions for defenders and midfielders. On Saturday, they had a very deep midfield and still found space in between the bank of 4 defenders and the midfield. That he also can receive this on the half turn - a benefit of the higher tempo we are playing with - means he is even moer effctive.

I think if Ozil has the same 3 years in English football that Dave has Aresenal will snatch your hand off right now.

Yeah, I never take polls like this serious. I do like Ozil, he's a player I don't tire of watching. Said it in the Silva thread though, wouldn't swap him for anyone.
