It’s not as simple as that I don’t think. Everyone puts a different value on it because their circumstances vary so much so while some are okay with paying £85pm full price, others like me reckon it’s only worth £50 max. Those used to IPTV have no incentive to pay even near that, only explaining what IPTV streams really are, how it has a knock on effect in reducing taxes in the UK and who are behind some of the streams will get them back. Along with removing the 3pm rule as well. Can Sky not increase prices to the overseas broadcasters or whatever and keep our own leagues at a lower cost to us?

Sky/BT only own the UK rights.. Other provider have continents/countries and buy them direct... a massive monopoly ran by the PL/UEFA/FIFA.I was just thinking out loud (or in print) really. Seems there's a huge demand for these matches abroad and its easy to watch any match from the PL on any day no matter the KO time in somewhere like Tenerife for example.
The rags have got SIngapore fans who would pay over the odds to 'support' 'their' team. So what is stopping Sky from charging the rights to those countries at a higher cost and reducing UK fan's costs. Might even increase attendances at grounds knowing you're not forking out a quarter of a season ticket price every month to watch 5% of the stuff that they broadcast that isn't a repeat.
Cheers for the explanation. See, this is why I love Bluemoon. Its not just a place where everyone thinks Nick Harris is a c**t.Sky/BT only own the UK rights.. Other provider have continents/countries and buy them direct... a massive monopoly ran by the PL/UEFA/FIFA.
Ssssh. My experience with sky this week defies belief. My current box malfunctioned. Phoned sky.
Well sir, that box is twelve years old and is obsolete. We no longer repair them, you will have to get a new box. Ok, I said, just replace my box and give me exactly what I have now. Not so easy, they said and launched into an explanation. At this point, the sky guy started to read a script. Stop stop stop, I cried. Listen, I am very deaf (and using a special phone for deaf old buggers) and when you gabble which people always do when reading a script for the umpteenth time, I can't hear a word. Drop the script and just tell me what you can do to put me back where I was before. Fat chance, he continued to gabble the script. I told him three times but he ignored my plea. Next he proceeded to tell me all the benefits of buying Sky. Oh, please stop, but no, he was ordered to give me the whole sales spiel. Finally, we got to the point where I could metaphorically sign on the dotted line. My god, he proceeded to read out the entire contract word for word. When he got to the end ten minutes later, I resigned and said : just give me a new box and a printed contract. And so on and so on......the call lasted for 50 minutes! Additionally he had a very thick asian accent, which made it difficult, but we can't say that, can we?
New box arrives next week. That's when I will have to start renegotiating. Jeez.
