Your suggestion that anyone writing for the Bleacher Report or Soccernews forms part of the journalistic elite may go some way to explain your consideration that anything produced by Metronews is capable of being 'excellent'.

For the avoidance of doubt, I think I can say with some confidence that any concerns expressed regarding bias in the media, on this or any other similar thread, relate almost exclusively to the output of the national newspapers, Sky, BBC and ITV. Your use of, quite frankly, non-sequitur examples that fall outside that grouping (notwithstanding your nebulous Metronews reference) is, therefore, completely extraneous to the main thrust of the points being raised by those expressing concerns with bias in the media.

Given that, if you can find similar examples in the Mail or the Mirror then fair enough, but until you do, the two websites to which you refer do not serve to advance your argument in any meaningful way.

Here is one from the Daily Mail as you requested. It has everything you could wish for:

Woodward slamming the phone down and blocking a loan, foul mouth four letter rants by moyes, being singled our for unfair treatment, World cup hopes being ruined. I think you would find it very difficult to find a more critical article in relation to rodwell anywhere in the press.

All clubs suffer negative articles its just as fans it is more noticeable when it relates to the team we support.

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2541926/Angry-Wilfried-Zaha-wants-claims-Manchester-United-did-U-turn-Cardiff-City-loan.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/footba ... -loan.html</a>
Fair enough.

If, however, you think that we overall get a fair crack from the British media versus united, Liverpool and Arsenal then you are utterly deluded and I am perfectly of evaluating that objectively, in spite of your suggestion to the contrary in the last sentence of your post.
Arsenal?

Arsenal get it the worst in my opinion.

i don't think it's necessarily that the media is anti-City... it's just so pro United and Liverpool that it's sickening!

We watched the final in Orlando Airport while waiting for our flight.

Ian Darke and McPointalot were the commentary team and among their little asides were:

1. While talking about late goals, "Sergio Agüero scored one of the most famous late goals ever".

2. "What a fantastic buy Pablo Zabaleta has turned out to be for Manchester City."

3. "Martin Demichelis had a very solid season for Manchester City."

Now I didn't catch all of the commentary because it was quite loud, and I'm not sure who said what, but it shows there are decent commentators out there, even if they don't work for Sty.

So you accept there are differentials between the way clubs are reported on?

I think it's piss taking out of the touchiest fans. In my opinion it isn't about a planned agenda, they just react to the biggest mards who are always ringing up/emailing/tweeting/moaning on forums and they just try and wind those fans up more. That's exactly what i'd do if i worked in the media.

talkSPORT rip it out of Arsenal, Sky Sports rip it out of Wenger...we get some little snide digs or are ignored slightly from time to time, or there's some bullshit in a paper, but not much else...both because our fans are always crying about our coverage the most, for me.

The one that stuck out for me was when mentioning the commentators for the final (watched it on ESPN as I'm on holiday in the USA at the moment).

McPointalot was mentioned with the description "He played for Liverpool and Real Madrid". That was it, now granted he was gash for us but he only played for three teams in his career, the last one being the current PL champions, and no mention of us...............

Even my brother in law who's a rag thought it was strange..........

I'll take that as a yes.
