It's not just attendances, seems people in the football industry (clubs, media etc) are quite happy to slag supporters for everything. Attendances, atmospheres etc.

Can anyone imagine Mourinho slagging off a club sponsor for a lack of support. Or Adebayor. Yet they have no problem having a go at people that contribute much, much more to the club that pays their salaries.

It's a total lack of respect, and appreciation for football supporters and it seems rife at the moment. Maybe we're to blame as we just bend over and take a shafting after shafting. That's why I think only 25k at Villa is excellent, maybe the people in the business will start to get the message.

Was listening to the radio going into work(was one day last week)they were talking about ched Evans, about 4 or 5 times they referred to him as "ex manchester city player",not one mention of Sheffield utd.
I'm on the fence with this agenda stuff, but that fuckin wound me up.

its a negative mate so they'll use it. their team cash cow is heading for the slaughter house so they need clicks whilst they can.

It is incredible the likes of Mourinho, players, pundits feel so comfortable turning against the very people who genuinely make sacrifices to support football within this country. Particularly when you think, without the full attendances the 'Premiership' product would be half as desirable to sponsors and television companies.

But like you say we appear happy to be shafted and comments on the Southampton thread, articles about ourselves, mocking away followings, prove how divisive we are, as if putting up with the whims of Sky and paying over inflated prices is seen as some badge of honour rather than a catalyst for fans to band together and having a unifying voice.

On a Monday night against Southampton, after the dross recently served, and a lack of aspiration of the club I think an attendance of 25k shows the resolve of Villa fans, however I would not blame anyone for not turning up, saving themselves 50 quid and enjoying the game with friends down the pub or at home.

There can be no other reason to mention our attendances other than jealousy, if any journo would do their homework they would see or average attendance is around 11000 more than at maine Road due obviously to larger ground. When we were poor little city we were always praised for our loyal support pulling massive crowds in Lower divisions, what's changed? success that's what, end of

I know I am repeating myself but our PR team are shite, pres , TV pundits x players, can say what the fuck they want about our club and not one taken to task on their so called facts. It stinks

I have just invested quite a lot of time sampling the contributions to this topic.

This thread (IMHO) represents some life-enhancing observations that could have been nurtured no-where else other than the noblest source of true Corinthian sporting values.

You don't know anything about what our Media staff do or don't do. And you assume that the club takes the same silly and arbitrary offence to every little meaningless thing that the tub thumping radicals on this thread do.

Some people in the media don't like the fact that we are filthy rich. Big deal.

Over the past four seasons or so we appear to have ridden with every piece of shite that Rag/Dipper hacks have penned, and accepted as a matter of 'free speech' what tits like Alan Green have graced the airwaves with, and we haven't heard of one single ban from the press box or the press conference. It may be that that is the Club's way of doing things but it contrasts markedly with the GPC approach of surreptitiously asking who might have asked an innocuous question at one of his pressers and been banned within the week!

The one thing I have trouble reconciling is the fact that we have BT Square, BT one of our sponsors or so I thought, and we get shite from the likes of Owen whenever he opens his ill-educated mouth. I think we did ban Dirty Dan Roan after that shameful piece within the interview with Patrick Vieira, but that appears to be the sum total.

Jeez, there's the little gimp on the front row at Hyde. Has he paid for his ticket, 'cos as sure as fuck he won't be an MCFC season ticket holder!

They do nowt because it doesn't have any affect on the club other than wind up a few sensitive souls from our support and put a few smiles on some sad home county Rags' faces. A bit of negativity every now and again hasn't stopped Nissan coming on board with a big sponsorship deal, hasn't stopped that nice big wedge from the sponsor on the bridge, hasn't stopped us winning trophies or signing £30+m potential top class defenders, hasn't stopped us selling out Prem games (we even sell more tickets than ever for early round cup games), hasn't stopped a load of tourists coming along on matchdays spending a nice sum...unless the club can see that any of this easily ignorable media balls actually has an affect on the club then why not just completely ignore it?

More fool BT, if they don't like us and are part of the agenda and they're actually giving us money!...i'm sure the City execs are the ones laughing each month when they open up the club bank statements! "look at these chumps, lads. look at that nice sum to help towards FFPR and they don't even fucking like us...hahahahahahahahah! oh BT, you are funny!"
