Spurs’ new stadium

Wembley, like nearly everywhere else, has a Grass Master pitch, that AFAIK is resistant to divots.

All you get is scars on the surface, where the real grass comes off the top, which are mainly cosmetic.

The reason it looked like it did, after the boxing, is because it had been covered up, meaning the real grass part died. No light or water will do that pretty quickly.

It'll look a bit shit, but I reckon it'll be fine and almost as smooth as usual. It will not be like a ploughed field, that's almost impossible with these pitches.

When are they due to move in to WHL?

  • Spurs hope to play their first match in their new home against Burnley in the Premier League on December 15

I agree - other than hte real Spurs locals, Wembley is pretty straightforward to get to (and much better for Cardiff fans, presumably).

60k in N17 is certainly going to be awkward to manage. I can see a lot of games starting late.
It will be a fucking nightmare. The Olympic stadium (shit bowl) was sold to us on the back of ‘first world transport links’ which was absolute bollocks. It’s shit. Even with central. Jubilee, dlr. overground and British rail it’s still shit.

Tottenham have one BR station and a tube at seven sisters a mile away.

Still at least they’ll have a stadium fit for football, and a cheese room which we all want in a stadium!!

Yes, I live close enough to know how awful it is likely to be. It was bad with 38k, so it'll be ludicrous now.

A cheese room??

Yes, as well as the longest bar in London (Slow hand clap) they have a cheese room. Why? God knows. It’s a 90 min game what’s wrong with a pukka pie and a bovril ffs. I’ve done corporate and hated it and the ****s that were in the box with me. A necessary evil in the game now. But cheese? Just give me a bit of cathedral cheddar and I’m golden

An opportunity to let the premier League know how much fans have been screwed over by this.

If you've been affected let this blue know

Just bought my ticket for this. This is the third match this year that has gone to my (10000) points level.
Am (pleasantly) very surprised by this as one of those was a German venue we have never been to before.
Any thoughts on why that is? Fatigue due to the number of matches we play?

Not sure it's one major factor as a few small ones that are slowly accumulating

Firstly, it means at least one extra day off work, which unlike the Watford game in December, has come as a complete surprise.

Secondly, after 30 years of pining for Wembley, it's simply become a repetitive, expensive chore. This will be my 13th experience since 2011, and it would have been 14 if London 2012 hadn't clashed with City-Chelsea.
We might even be returning before Christmas if we beat Fulham in the LC, and draw Tottenham Away.

However, I sense more than ever that the hardcore City away following is ageing, and starting to pick and choose.
No disgrace, but it's harder, and too expensive for the younger replacements to pick up the baton.
I also feel that it's creeping into other clubs as well

What a momentous occasion. The might of Burnley. Not quite Barcelona are they.

Odds on it won't be done anyway. Maybe ready for Scum second weekend in Jan?? Easier win than Burnley.
