Spurs Vs City Post Match Thread

thats how I saw it

burying heads in snd won't help....we were awful for the third game out of 4 (sunderland we were ok..nothing more).......bad decsions happen in football but to hide the truth behind them is very mouhrinio esq of people.

we were poor and got what we deserved

the floppers are out i see

Is that supposed to be flappers? They are not out! It is the same everytime we discuss a bad defeat and have a pop at tactics or some shit performances some bright spark calls people flappers,or we get told to ''Man up'' or similar. It is a discussion forum and nobody is going to be happy after a performance like that which smacked of too many of last season's performances.

[Don't balE="journolud, post: 8898257, member: 3505"]still, we'll be back on top next week when we beat the barcodes and the Rage lose to Arsenal[/QUOTE]

Dont bank on it
Arsenals have not beaten United for years in the league

We had a job done on us today, not by Spuds, but by incompetent officials. Going in 1-0 up at half time and it would have been a different ballgame.

Precisely.

At 1-0 away from home the hard work is done, you can concentrate on defending and picking teams off on the break which with De Bruyne, Yaya, Sterling and Aguero is ideal. At 1-1 the game plan changes and you have to chase the game, which with slow defenders like Demichellis, Otamendi and Kolarov is always a risk.

It was a perfect away performance until the officials fucked ua yet again.

The big question really is what is up with Sergio and how do we get him back to the player he was? It looks more than just injury/out of form. His entire body language and demeanour suggests there is a deeper psychological problem that may even be outside of the club. Either way the cause needs to be addressed urgently - as no Sergio this season and far fewer goals - very probably equals no trophies.

Hopefully not too many morons are blaming Pellegrini here. We have numerous injuries to a few key players and numerous goals that were clearly offside but not given. We were the better side and leading until Walker who was yards offside played the ball across and an individual mistake from De Bruyne led to a good finish. This goal then gave Spurs confidence and they then stepped up a gear, something we didn't match or want to match imo. As we were missing Hart, Vinny & Silva we needed the likes of Yaya, Aguero, Sterling & De Bruyne to step up, be leaders and they didn't through the 90.

Tottenham played decent but they weren't exceptional, simply they worked harder and wanted the win much more than us. They also had a generous help from a cock of a linesman and individual errors on our part.

Why are so many convinced that Hart was rested? Pelle says he was injured all week - hence not on the bench Tuesday - and only trained Friday. So he was clearly a risk to play. Willy did well on Tuesday - though granted Blind Pugh probably could have done against Sunderland. You can see why he put Hart on the bench just in case but that it was preferable he did not play unless necessary.

The injury was obviously real and he must have been close to playing - hence why he travelled. If you recall Pelle said a few days ago that he hoped to have several players back from injury today - and included Hart in that list with Kompany and Zabaleta (both of whom were on the bench until Kompany was sick just before the game). On here people thought Pelle meant Hart would be back in the squad again not back from injury. But it is clear he meant what he said. You don't feign a week long injury.

he wasnt rested, he had a back strain and anyone who has that knows, you can be pretty useless for a week, especially for a goalkeeper. But i suspect after today Joe will demand to play even if he has two broken legs.

We have today witnessed one of the worst performances by officials in the Prem this season. But because it involves City losing all the headlines will revolve around a City loss. I honestly believe going in 1 up at half time it would have been a different story. The third goal (offside again) killed us off, and from that point it was no longer a contest.
