Barry is the sort of player that should be finishing his career with us. He won't expect to start every match nor will he get upset about being used off the bench. No he isn't up for it in Europe, but he can still do a job in league and domestic cups.

Offer him reduced wages and an extension. He's English and the rags and Chelsea make use of veterans quite well, why can't we?

It's not really the continental to be honest. If a player wants to stay at the club he usually retires... If not they move him on. Doesn't mean he won't come back.
