Stadium Expansion

we dont need to look at tourists, there are plenty of locals and people that stopped going, take me dad for example went evry home and away games in the 70s, 80s, 90s and early 00s but stopped going as he couldnt afford it likewise with his mates.

As has shown with games like hambuirg if we make it cheaper we could fill a 100,000 seat stadium, I know that hamburg sold out in one hour.
However its all about money, and they bring in far more money than the locals I'm afraid, which is why united target the day tripper over locals.

Oh!

Don't forget the proposed leisure destination of national significance.(Collar Site and land around the stadium) If this proposal ever see's the light of day, and is as spectacular as we've been led to believe, this alone will attract 1000's of tourists/visitors.

Plans to build the country's first super casino in east Manchester collapsed in 2008. But city chiefs have never lost their ambition to turn the site - beside the Etihad Stadium - into a major international visitor attraction. The masterplan retains the commitment to build a leisure and entertainment venue of 'national significance' there. http://menmedia.co.uk/manchesterevening ... the-future

And its quiet significant that a lot of people say that that game was one of the best for atmosphere in the last few seasons. Locals who can only go when its cheaper, and who probably went for years, will make more noise than tourists. Cant wait for the official announcement. ;)

Theoretically (because it will never happen) if we introduced £5 tickets, how many fans per week do people think we could get? Probably over 100,000 cared enough to line the streets for the parade, most in colours. Imagine all the fans in low income households who have no chance of going right now.

I'd like to see poor families on income support, etc, get cheaper match tickets, if and when the ground is expanded. There must be 100's of 'Kids' who's parents can't afford to take them to watch City. Even if the club puts aside 250 tickets for a minimal price, that would be a great gesture.

I fully appreciate some on here won't agree. Fair enough.

What about putting some on offer at Dover for the Border force to hand out.

depends which game. early cup games i say give a big allocaiotn to local schools. won't happen for league games purely for financial reasons as we are selling out every week. out of interest how cheap do you want to go. some games are kids for a fiver as it is.

It's true. Sounds mad but I think we could get 100,000 if tickets were cheap.

47,000 x £35 is obviously much more than 100,000 x £10 unfortunately so it's not feasible.
