Stadium Expansion

Its not even worth thinking about in terms of revenue per pint.

The current deal in place at Anfield for example means that Carlsberg pay LFC £1.5m p.a. just to have their beer in the ground.
I'm struggling to believe that. I understand that Arsenal get a million quid a year and with the extra capacity and more corporate facilities (especially on non-match days) I would hazard a bet that their beer volumes will be at least double those at Anfield.

I understand that Carlsberg and LFC have some 'istree, but the figure you quote seems to be well in excess of the market price imo.

Dont struggle but believe me or not the figure came directly from John W Henry in conversation about introducing a new beer to the ground.
Fair enough, although it wouldn't be the first time that he has overstated the worth of his club for nefarious purposes.

I do know that the Carlsberg/LFC deal gets signed off in Copenhagen, which is unusual, and it may be that the historic ties between them and LFC have an inflationary effect for some reason.

The thing about that "roof" is that it seems independent of the "stands"... And are the polygons hollow or glass??? Wouldn't be much protection from the weather if not.

So, they'll just take the current roof off and build this over/round the stands, while expanding the girth of the concourses (restaurants etc) and height of the stands (new seats/boxes)...?

I guess the extra 10k to make 70 would come from filling the corners in.

Can't believe I've not seen that on here before...? Seems reasonable. Or am I getting giddy?

Anyone who imagines this sort of thing can't happen should think carefully:

Aye but we're up against enemies in all quarters and directions.[/quote said:
Don't think of them as enemies, just future revenue streams. Make it so good that their kids insist on coming and put daddies money in our coffers.

Here's a giddy thought whilst we are at it and clearly all guesswork on my part, but could the emphasis about going further in the CL ,which got a bit hysterical IMO ''Mancini feeling the pressure'' etc, be because we want not only win it but to do so,at home in a big, shiny, newly refurbished and re-branded stadium.

Have the press been correct to pickup that ''vibe'' from the club but for a bigger reason?

Now then.

Maybe that's why the fancy bridge was ditched? The new roof will (ok, might) extend all the way out to the Academy.

It could also go out over City Square...

Tolmies idea is a good one but sadly flawed.

There is only one peoples club and that is Everton. Never to be outdone or surpassed.

Lots of good info coming on here.

I have not posted since earlier in the thread for obvious reasons, however, people are getting carried away.

It will be extensions to both ends. Have a look at my posts on the main thread on this and you will get the idea.

How the heck did that 'cauldron' article get missed?
I'm a bit dubious about that blog claim about an announcement to be honest. There are people on here with connections into people who would know about that and no one said anything. There was nothing on the OS. There was nothing in the media.
This!

Way use this "Inoculated city" as a header?

inoculated: Treat (a person or animal) with a vaccine to produce immunity against a disease.
Introduce (an infective agent) into an organism: "it is inoculated into laboratory animals"
