I see something missing from this guide:
The original Star Wars book in 1976 was ghost written for George Lucas from the film screenplay by Alan Dean Foster (who incidentally wrote the original book "Alien"). Alan Dean Foster (with George Lucas permission) went on to write a sequel called "A Splinter in the Minds Eye", which is set in a time shortly after Episode 4 and before the Empire Strikes Back. Luke and Leia find themselves on planet called Mimban, and the book goes some way in highlighting the sexual tension that exists between Luke and Leia, which goes with the general opinion that they were never originally intended to be brother and sister.
Unfortunately for this book, and Alan Dean Foster, no-one had envisaged the massive hit the film would become, so the production companies got their teeth into it to see how much could be wrung from the franchise, and as result this story was dropped for what we see now. For those of you with an interest in all things Star Wars. this book is still available, and is actually a pretty good read.
I had an original copy of that book and the Han Solo trilogy but my mum threw them out when they downsized.I see something missing from this guide:
