A work permit will only be dealt with after all the other formalities are completed.

Well excited that this deal should go through today.

One of Ricsters class of 2010 :)
So you've seen quite a bit of him then? Is he good enough to immediately compete with Lescott to partner Vinnie, or will it be a few years before he's ready to start week in week out?

If Lescott performs like he did at the back end of the season then not at the moment, but he will challenge for a first team spot, whether it be at CB or RB. I think you'll see him play against the "smaller" clubs, and Mancini will give him plenty of game time. Only bad thing is that this may hinder the development of Boyata.

-- Tue Jul 05, 2011 1:38 pm --

You rate him mate? Has he appeared in one of your threads about youngsters? If so any chance of a link, if not can you let us know more about him?

What i wrote earlier in the thread,

FAO ANY1ABLUE.

On page 17 i wrote this

Quote:
Page 3, although i haven't said much about the player, the fact i had him down for future potential last year is enough for me. Very Vidic like in the way he plays. He is physically strong. He played against Arsenal last December and apart from the odd mistake, take into account his age, and the players he was playing against, some world class, he did very well indeed. In that game he played at RB, and although CB is his preferred position he was able to keep Samir Nasri pretty quiet for most of the night.

If people are really interested in seeing him play, look for some torrents and make your own assessment. Im very happy that he's looking likely to sign for City.

Also because of financial fair play rules coming in Savic is more of one for the future, it is hard to say whether someone of this age will be better than a player who has played for years in the best league in the world, but what i could probably tell you is that Savic is a better player now, than when Lescott was at that age at Wolves.

Is he primarily a centre back, and what do you consider his strengths & weaknesses?

good in the air, quick and can play the ball out of defence well.only 20 ;)

Potentially, however Kenya are far lower down the FIFA rankings than Montenegro. I can't see any work permit problems emerging.

These one for the future signings never come off. The term "squad player" always mystifies me as well. If the player isn't good enough to play in your first team then there's no point in him being in the squad.

This is what is worrying me too. We've bought Clichy, Savic next, and still may buy Vertonghen. Boateng and Nedum are leaving yes, but one missed half of last season and the other was out on loan, and Boyata still struggled to get a chance. Not only Boyata but Wabara will struggle for chances if we keep buying defenders when we have top prospects of our own. Lescott will be going nowhere fast and Kolo still has some longevity and even if he didn't, I feel we'll try and please him to keep Yaya happy.

For Boyata's sake, I think we should try and develop him as much as a RB as CB, as he looked promising as a RB against Bolton and it'd give him more chance if he could play two positions easily.
