Sterling racially abused by Chelsea fan?

Absolute disgrace. That arsewipe more than likely has a family at home and i hope they are utterly ashamed and disgusted by his behaviour.
If he does have a partner, I wonder what they think of the relationship now ? Who wants to live with a scumbag like that ??

Since when have Chelsea,or for that matter other London clubs fans referred to us as Mancs? Thought that was the scousers terminology. As far as I'm aware fans from the capital lump us all together as "Norvern Carnts".

It was my first nickname in the military.

Before they got to know me and gave me one that was less pleasant ;)

Just been reading the Dipper forums thread on Raz, apparently theyre still gonna boo the fuck out of him at Scumfield.......Twats

All these people slating Neville for not doing enough have obviously never been in a position where hindsight has been a wonderful thing. Anyone who has managed others for work could probably think of lots of cases where you may have handled something differently had you had chance to sit back and take stock. But often the pressures of work mean you come to a judgement that is the quickest, or simplest, to enable you to move on to the next thing. And the person affected probably feels a little short changed.

I disagree. Raz was subject to unfair abuse throughout the tournament which is not comparable to most people’s experience of managing others. It should have been a simple case of showing support for a member of the team who had done nothing wrong and had no control over what was happening. I would be absolutely furious if my manager treated me in a similar way.
I’d say Neville and Hodgson were more than happy for Raheem to be scapegoated to deflect from their own appalling performances.

I'd expect nothing better from those deluded gits. Anybody who had an ounce of football intelligence would tell you that he is a far better player now than he was with them. He left for that very reason. I understood this when SWP left for Chelsea. But instead of slagging off the lad you cherish the moments when they delivered for you. Dippers are incapable of such sentiments.

It was briefly mentioned on the build up to one of England's matches in the tournament
Sterling was getting criticism from the media about his performances and especially the number of times he was losing the ball whilst trying to take a man on

The commentator (or expert who sits with the commentator) said that "the England coaching staff were surprised by the criticism of Sterling as he was doing what they asked, be aggressive with the ball and take a man on, and they also believed he was one of England's better performers"

But I don't ever recall Hodgson telling the press this in one of his tournament interviews

It can only ever be speculation but the comments from Gary Neville the other night together with the point you make above doesn’t make it appear that the England Management under Roy Hodgeson particularly managed or protected Raheem very well. At one point in the European Championships- Pep who’d only just taken over felt the need to intervene. I think Pep has managed Raheem really well and he (Raheem) obviously feels trusted and respected. But credit to Southgate too he started Raheem at the WC and resisted the media clamour / frenzy to start Rashford. The key point in all of this is that Pep and Southgate have reaped the benefits of good man management. I don’t know what others think but when he reflects back on his comments the other night Gary Neville should be ashamed. He received a cry for help and basically did nothing. How could anyone hearing that think that Neville has managerial credentials?
