Alfredo Pedullà says we may close the deal at around £21.5million. An excellent fee if true.

smashing business, i knew this was gonna be the week that things happen, jovetic and negredo!

new (lower wage) contract for lescott if he wants it, but i still think he'll want to move for regular football

£24m for Silva and Yaya so that sounds about right with the market becoming more inflated every year.

Pardon my ignorance but who is Pedullà?

I think it would be sensible to afford Nasri another year to justify his case of playing for this club, as with Dzeko, considering the changing of managers and philosophy around the team.

Jovetic at least is willing to run at a defender. Nasri never does. Nasri will probably be sold if we buy Jovetic.

I don't see why that's necessarily the case, unless we have someone willing to pay 20-25 million pounds. if dzeko is sold (which I am assuming) and we land jovetic and negredo we have aguero, negredo, jovetic, silva, nasri, navas (and guidetti). 6-7 players for the four attacking spots, they will all get plenty of games.
We will not sell Dzeko this summer.

One of those Italian transfer gurus, has a pretty good rep even though he's not Di Marzio.

Has anyone got the Daffy Duck gif?

I think Jovetic will be our Isco equivalent and be utilized as a number ten.

Strikers: Kun, Dzeko, Negredo, Guidetti

Creators/ inside forwards: Silva, Nasri, Jovetic, Navas

Can see both Negrado and Jovetic coming in and Dzeko staying.

Jovetic will be more AM than CF and more left sided than either Silva or Nasri.

Negrado will be CF with Dzeko and main CF Aguero.

But this is only my opinion.

Good window if we get these 2 signed.

were they just holding out on 30 mil from Juve because they're rivals? 21mil would be a superb deal for us.

Not sure why we'd strengthen the squad just to weaken it again.

Navas, Silva, Nasri, Jovetic, Aguero, Negredo and Dzeko between 4 positions seems good to me. Nice balance and variety there.

Absolutely. That's a superb set of attacking options. Plenty of different ways to start games and plenty of ways to change them. That's also not including Milner or Yaya who can both play further forward.

Things could have been so different. Had he signed then it would have been our ITK Fitzroy breaking the news on MEN

Manchester City have joined the chase to sign Partizan Belgrade starlet Stevan Jovetic. The 17-year-old is rated as one of the finest prospects in Europe and both Manchester United and Real Madrid have already made contact with Partizan about the youngster.Scouts from across the continent have been checking on the Montenegro international - who can play anywhere along the forward line - and he has not disappointed this term with seven goals in just 12 games.City have now thrown their hat into the ring to land Jovetic after Sven Goran Eriksson dispatched his right hand man Tord Grip to hold talks with Partizan.Grip met with Partizan's general manager Gordan Petric last week and the Swede attended a couple of games in Serbia.

Talks

Former Dundee United star Petric admitted talks had taken place but stressed Jovetic would not be moving in January and that no deal had been agreed with any club."We wont be selling Jovetic this January," Petric insisted."We are aware that he will go sooner or later, but we wouldn't let go of his services earlier than the end of 2008."Of course, it depends what kind of offers we will be getting for him, but personally, I think it wouldn't be good for him to leave for abroad so soon at this age."The talks are going on, and City are not the only club in question."Partizan president Tomislav Karadzic added that the club are not looking to sell, yet."The money on offer can be tempting, but we are not planning to lose such a bright talent so early," he told the Serbian press.Jovetic is currently valued at around £7million but when Partizan sell, if he continues to improve as he has done in recent months, the teenager could well fetch over £10million.
