Stoke on Wednesday

Looking forward to this game, got a feeling its going to go down to penalties.

Our fans need to get rid of the negativity and, if they can, get down to this game.

No, it is not shocking, it is understandable. I have been to every home game in league and cups this season but simply cannot afford to go to away games because I was made redundant late last year. I know I am not alone. Watching football is expensive. I would like to go but feeding myself is more of a priority.

It is to some like yourself but you tell me there aren't 4,000 city fans who can afford to spend £22 50 miles down the road and i will call you a liar.

Maybe there are, but why should they? For everyone unlucky enough to have been laid off, there are probably another two people who fear it could be them next. Many people are being careful about how they spend their money because they fear what is waiting for them around the corner.

Equally, it cost £82 to go to the Carling Cup semi-final, not to mention the other games we've had in the cups this season. Fans have shelled out a lot of money already and probably want to keep things tight for the time being, particularly if there will be two Wembley appearances in a best-case scenario.

Add to all this the recent frustrations of supporters at games, I can totally see why ticket sales have been sluggish.

I went last week, but I'm not going this week. I'm not prepared to shell out another £40 to watch that Stoke shite. OK, we're not playing flowing football, but at least we tried to play football last week. Stoke on the otherhand pumped it in the air and threw it in the air for 90 minutes. JOKE! Another £40 for another 90 minutes of that, no thank you. I will save my money for Chelsea away, if we beat Joke. The ticket might be fourty odd quid, but at least I'll see a game of football, regardless of the result.

cant work out our away support at times.

Just under 4,000 on a monday night on TV away at villa at £38 a ticket, yet only 1,800 at £22 to stoke which is just down the road.

Not having a go at people because i know money is tight and all that, i just cant understand it, especially when we had about 7,000 going over to schalke on a thursday night last season!

I can't understand it either. People were getting bank loans and maxing out credit cards to go to Europe last season.

I don't particularly care what the quality of football will be like, the team need our support in an extremely hostile stadium.

behave , we took 2,800 to villa and about the same to schalke and there'll be about 2,000 on wednesday -out of interest , the reason some people wont be going on wednesday - no work , looming redundancies , shit train times - why dont these things happen to spurs, everton, newcastle etc supporters who's away following seems to have kept at a high level while ours has seemed to trail off alarmingly

Might be to do with most people expecting to get beat.

But where were those people when we were shit? football for me isnt about winning and if I had the money I would happily go but as ive not got a job I cant.
