Stoke Vs City (FA Cup) Post match Discussion Thread

Great result for us, everyone put in the hard yards today, Stoke came up with its usual thuggery during the game, it always looked like the game was going to be settled by the one goal, and I'm glad that Zabaleta got it, the ref was very poor today, thought Milner, Barry, Silva, and Garcia did well, the defence stood up well, especially when Kompany departed, hope the injury isn't to serious......................

Well done Blue boys. These early KOs never seem to be great but job done and in the hat for R5.

A special mention to Stoke's incredibly basic fanbase (the ones who turned up that is) with their furious booing everytime we got a free kick. Never heard such an easily outraged bunch of people.

Great win, at a place where we haven't won in years.
Thought the whole team really put in a shift today, some real gritt and team spirit was on show today.
I'm confident Whelan will be given a ban after that cowardly challenge, I've always liked Whelan, always thought he has punched above his weight in the premier league, plus he is an ex blue, but that challenge was an absolute disgrace.

If we manage a win at Everton this season that'll be a few away day hoo-doo's banished. Arsenal, Stoke and Everton (maybe).

Good professional performance from us. Pablo was immense and deserved to me motm, great finish. I though Milner was unusually poor but a special mention to Howard Webb the bald headed fucking tit. Whelan should have had a straight red and Shotton should have had two yellows after trying to snap Tevez's shin in the first half and then sliding straight through him in the second. Aguero was pulled back when he was going through, another one he missed and Tevez was given offside when he was level. Shocking refereeing, from our supposedly top ref.

Well done City.

Aguero annoyed me by just stopping because he could of clearly got through and scored
If he hadn't have been pulled back he would have been through.
If anything he was too honest. Rooney would have dropped like a fucking stone as soon as he felt that hand on his shoulder.
I guess tahts true but the old addage is play to the whistle he better than most knows that. Anyway its a small moment and didnt matter I just thought he should of carried on, the ref let sStoke get away with murder

That game was a good cure for my hangover. I hate Stoke, I hate that everyone that plays them might be playing their last game. If I were Brek Shea, who is on training with them right now, I would get as far away from that team as possible. They will kill his creativity imo.
Excuse my ignorance here, but who the fuck is Brea Shea?

Or have I just been clarkied? Hard to tell these days.

No you haven't. He is just a young American Talent, real creative, good finisher, I have never seen an american (take that with a grain of salt) with this type of creativity. He missed most of last year with a Broken Foot. But Stoke brought him in to train with them this week. I think it would be an awful move for him.

A great result, really pleased with zabaleta he's definitely the player of season so far. He just keeps on adding things to his game, first it was the crossing and now its the goals he just a complete full back. Would love to go and win this again, was a super day out last time and its a great trophy to win.
On a side note whelan has to be given a retrospective ban, horrid challeng, javi's lucky to have been able to walk off the pitch. Hate stoke and pulis.

I was taken aback a bit when i saw the many gaps in the home support stands .... i thought they would have been well up for this in a 27,000 capacity ground .... fair play to the fans of both sides who did turn up though , those were awful conditions outside the ground , and it must have been freezing.

Looks like Stokes form of late, the cold , and tv coverage , has put a few Stoke supporters off going .... but we could easily have sold more tickets if only they'd been offered to us.

Very happy with a win and a clean sheet. Zabba along with Silva and Lescott were our standout players, pleased with them. Barry, Garcia, Clichy, Massive, Milner did there jobs and nice to see Rodwell back in action. Bit disappointed with our strikers today, very wasteful.

I'm none too sure that a meeting with Millwall , home or away , would be something to look forward too ...... especially if they brought over 6,000 yobs here !
