Stuart Pearce

Pearce is a miserable fucker who’s not got a clue on tactics, he said the other day why slab head is a brilliant leader and lots of clubs would love to have him in there teams. That sentence alone shows what he knows and that’s fuck all.
Was a world class player - 99 goals from left back, but way out of his depth as a coach.

Watching City under Pearce was like watching football with all the joy stripped out of it, under Ball it was like watching football with all the intelligence removed and under Clark like watching a team that had had its sanity stripped away. They were all an endurance test, but for different reasons.
With Ball, you knew what was going to happen to us - he had not much of a coaching reputation to look back on. With Clark, he was building up a decent coaching reputation when he joined us and we expected a lot more than he delivered. He signed Bradbury................

He made his reappearance on TS today and droned on about how he’d been in Poland booked on a motivational/leadership talk gig, apart from a bit of tub thumping as a player I can’t imagine what the poor Poles had to listen to.

A guy with his football talent would be no more than a lower level championship player nowadays and his management abilities wouldn’t get him in the door in National L 1.

I think Hughes gets a rough ride off blues. Bought us some quality players at bargain prices and played some decent football.
He got a little kid in a sweet shop when the take over happened. But, he was far better than most of the managers we have had in my 40 years of being a blue.

Hughes does not deserve putting in the same bracket as Pearce. I quite like Hughes as a man as well, seems a decent fella.

Hughes was a decent coach for Blackburn - was ok for us but our owner knew we needed to upgrade the coach. Signed Vinny, Zabba, Bellers, de Jong, Tevez, Lescott, Barry and brought back SWP. One or two duds as well that didn't work, but for the above mentioned alone he deserves a bit of praise don't you think? Hughes was/is light years ahead of Pearce as a coach.

Great footballer, but bonkers as a manager. Apparently, when he went to Nottingham Forest as manager he called everyone into a room. Players, cleaners, pie sellers, HR etc. His opening gambit was...'if any of you lot don't want to be here you can fuck off!' The rest is history.
