I now drive a bus for a living and you hear loads of inappropriate conversations. They seem to be totally unaware that everyone can hear them. I have had someone onto social services about their child bed wetting,
people arranging drugs deals, arranging to meet their bit on the side.

My dad named his first born after himself and it was real confusing for my early years until it was settled on calling them Dad Derek and Derek Derek- but was hugely helpful when my dad passed away intestate - any phone calls to solicitors or banks he managed to get significantly more access - maybe forward planning ;)

This morning it’s the pillock on Radio 2 constantly interrupting the travel broadcast and trying to turn it into some sort of comedy sketch. The bloody woman couldn’t concentrate, didn’t know if the road was closed, partially closed, north bound, south bound or bloody egg bound. It’s hard enough to listen to when you’re completely unaffected but if you’re one the 1% who are travelling on that route and could avoid the delays with the right information it must be really annoying.

Out on my bike the other day and just a fraction away from being hit by a car exiting a side road. It was a lady driver who was clearly using her hand-held 'phone, she did stop to say sorry.

Got me thinking, if that had been a bloke, I could have cursed and heaped any amount of abuse and opprobrium at him without any repercussion. But, with a woman (who's 'phone could have been in record mode?), what could I say without being reported to the police for misogyny, a gender issue, being offensive or using threatening behaviour? The maximum would probably be "Please take more care madam".

In today's policing world, offending a person probably takes precedence over careless driving.

I have a B-I-L and his son who are both called Les. Separated into Big Les, the dad who is quite slight and Little Les the son who is nothing of the sort.
