Summer Transfers

The window for Bonucci was last summer - can't see us going for him now. We could offer him a big uplift in wages last year but I think he's now got himself a good deal at Juve.

I agree the best opportunity has probably gone with Bonnuci but we could do with an experienced defender.

Lukaku has just rejected a contract offer from Everton. Should we be in for him? He has the added benefit of being young and homegrown.

No, hed only ever be a plan b, and he's not going to go anywhere he's not first choice. We need somebody more versatile.

Wondering if we'll end up going in for another electric winger. As we've seen this season our form really dips when either Sterling or Sane can't make the 11, and our squad doesn't really have alternatives who play in their style beyond Jesus. With Navas almost certainly leaving I could see us going in for another winger just to cover injuries/ form loss.

This is need in my opinion. Someone like Douglas Costa or Kingley Coman. Or maybe even Nathan Redmond?

I agree with this. I do believe though that our first priority will be to get our defence sorted out (at least I hope so), so I would think we will see a new LB, RB and CB before we sign a replacement for Navas.

:-)

Love it.

We have Moreno, Zinchenko, Roberts plus a bunch of talented academy kids who could all play wide, or wide striker, as can Gabriel Jesus & we have another scoring cf in Unal, to cover in the centre if/when Jesus was used wide.

Although Moreno & Zinchenko aren't playing much at the moment, they have absolute bucketloads of ability & Moreno is seriously quick. I think both would have played more games here, under Pep, than they have on loan.

Depends how many non 'homegrown' spaces are made in the squad with sales.

If there last few years are anything to go by - our targets will be set and the preliminary work being done about now. I'd expect Pep has been very vocal behind closed doors about what he needs next year. He's worked with a limited squad this year - that whilst talented is clearly unable to execute his plans - although they have got better. With all the out of contracts I'd expect 6 or 7 out and a similar number in. I think some of the loanees like Roberts might be better doing another year (out on loan) this time at a Premier League club, than playing a few cup games for us.

Our whole recruitment policy needs tweaking.
Forget spending big,we have to start spending wisely and become more smart..Surely Pep doesn't need Alaba,Neuer,Kroos,Messi etc to be successful here.Don't necessarily need the best players, need players to make us a better TEAM.

Kasper Schmeichel is a no brainer in my eyes, solves our goalkeeping problem for the next 10 years. World class goalkeeper who is experienced and successful in English football.

Top centre back.

New left and right back.

Top holding midfielder.

Third choice winger after Sane and Sterling.

Schmeichel is no better than Hart and is 30 years old, rather Rulli or Ederson tbh. Agree with the rest though

A Goalkeeper, three Fullbacks, two CBs, two new CMs and another winger as back up to Sane and Sterling.

We're gonna have to spend some serious cash this summer.
the problem is, can the decision makers replace the deadwood we have with correct players? not convinced personally
