Summer Transfers

So if the recent links to Koulibaly and Torres are correct, along with the idea that Steffen will be our number two, here's the breakdown on foreign players:
1 Ederson
2 Steffen
3 Cancelo
4 Koulibaly
5 Laporte
6 Fernandinho
7 Mendy
8 Zinchenko
9 Rodri
10 Gundogan
11 De Bruyne
12 Bernardo
13 Mahrez
14 Torres
15 Aguero
16 Jesus

Could be wrong on if Torres would count as foreign if he's U21. Also not sure where Garcia stands in that regard but if this is correct we'd still be able to sign one more foreigner.

Edit: This is assuming Otamendi is off. I could see Zinchenko leaving as well or maybe they move him to midfield and bring Angelino back or loan him out again and use #17 on a foreigner LB.

You've got Bernardo Silva in twice.

I don't doubt his talent. But he is like the Silva's and less like Sane.

While Torres is not all Sane, he seems more like a younger quicker Mahrez than Sane. But he has above average speed. Oyarz just doesn't.
That's fine, I was just reading some comments saying Oyarzabal is average, and he isn't, he is a big talent.

I would argue he is almost dead middle of Sane and Silva, and not necessarily closer to Silva. I've had the chance to watch him pre-covid and was surprised how good he was at that left-footed cross from the left, he is 2nd in assists in La Liga because of it.

Anyways besides that, I watched some of Torres, and he looks really good, right-footed right winger, great crossing and overall technique.

But I thought we needed a left footed left winger? We can put Sterling or Braaf on the RW, and we know Sterling will do it very good as many people are clamouring for it.

I mean, he's only 20 and a big talent, it's clear why we want him with 1 year left, I just don't know what solution it fixes as I felt IF we buy a winger, specifically we want left-footed left winger.

For depth? Sure great then, dunno if we need him for depth with Braaf and Sterling who can play there though.

I don't understand this desire for physicality over quality, it baffles me. Obviously there has to be a balance between the two but I'd always go for quality (technicality and intelligence) over physicality any day. Give me David Silva over Scott McTominay any day.

Oyarzabal's delivery from that left hand side is not quite De Bruyne quality, no fucker is but he's not far short. I'd love him here as a different option to what we have already.

Yeah, it's specific to what we want to address, delivery from the left when we lose Sane + David.

Now to be honest, I would honestly like to see Mahrez sold as well, and also have us buy Torres. That way we have Torres and Oyarzabal sending pin point crosses from both flanks to the center.

Sterling can play striker or either wings, Braaf can play either wings also, and relegate Bernardo permanently to midfield, so rotate between Phil, Kevin and Bernardo in 2 spots, plenty of game time for all 3 there.

I love Mahrez, and I defend him alot because of his numbers, but his selfishness irks me a little too much. That combined with the fact that I prefer classical wingers in our system rather than inverted means I prefer Torres over him on the right.

Basically, let's buy both spanish talents and sell Mahrez too.

Agree with every word.
