Sunderland Vs City Post Game Discussion Thread

Standing still as champions is fatal as many of us said at the start of the season. We did just that when Mancini cried out for players to take us to the next level. I have a lot of doubts about Mancini, his predictable tactics and all, but had he been given what he asked for we'd be pissing the league especially as United's best player would be partnering Aguero up front and Chelsea's best player would be one of our two playmakers.

Mancini has to take some of the blame as well. Van Persie, Hazard, and De Rossi were the cream of the crop last summer in their respective positions. I could've chosen them to push us forward. There are plenty of players in Europe who would improve our squad, yet it seems the best identified for a reasonable price was Sinclair.

For me he's got to go. Not because of losing narrowly to shite teams or only just beating the shite teams, but because of our lack of cutting edge. It's virtually the same players from last season out on the pitch and we were a joy to watch last year. This year it's like pulling teeth. I think Mancini has lost the desire and hunger after last seasons dramatic title win and looking around at all the backroom staff coming in makes me think he knows his cards are marked. We used all our luck up last season IMO and over the road seem more hungrier to snatch the trophy back in May. 8 points was nothing last year cos of the way we were playing, this year 7 points looks like a mountain to climb.
Instead of sacking him, why don't we let him sign an attacking/creative mid like we are sorely lacking?

total wank, no plan B,

No title this year.
Agreed it will be very difficult to retain the title now, but we are seven points behind, still 50 plus points to play for. Our Strikers will hopefully find some form soon and start converting chances, we created enough good chances to win this game today, but for whatever reason we cannot take them at the moment.

Obviously Mancini has fallen out with Lescott, Zabba has arguably been best right back in Prem this season and today starts at left back with Lescott on bench, this is not good shouldn't let personal problems get in the way of best team selection.

Still feel hat once Strikers get their form back we can still run the Rags close for the title but will be tough.

What good chances? Were we viewing the same fixture???
Were you ? Aguero twice first and second half shot into the goalies legs when he should of scored, and Silva did the same in the first half. On another day all three of these should of been taken.

Edit: And don't start with the "he wanted to go to London" and "he only wanted United" shite, they went to the clubs with the best offers, end of story.

THIS.....THIS....THIS....

We are suffering from....

ARSENALITIS

Look where trying to walk the ball into the net has got them over that last 7 years :-/

We offered almost 300k p/w and a fucking helicopter but RvP said no. And Hazard wanted to play always.

When we have to resort to putting Lascot on as a striker it's clear where the problem lies.

And Hart has to take some blame for the goal. Left side again!

We made poor signings in the summer and it shows now.

Not suprised in the slightest. I resisted predicting this result on the pre match thread because of the usual slaging off. This was nailed on, so helped myself to £110 by backing Sunderland at 11/2. Easy money. Next thing that is nailed on is that City will sit on their hands during the transfer window while Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs strengthen. Believe me, it will be a fight to get even 4th place this season. All of this was so predictable after the transfer window fuck ups in the summer. Hazard + Van Persie = 10 points clear and last 16 of Champions League. Alternative (that we actually got) = where were are now, clueless, toothless and gutless.
