We don't have to play youngsters.
We can still play a strong team even allowing for the omissions you mention.

True and expect that’s more likely. I expect we will start with Palmer and maybe McAtee.

I always think 7 regular first teamers with 4 young lads is the best mix to ensure the kids learn and integrate best. This can be added to/reduced with subs depending on how the game is progressing.

This is not a early round League Cup game.
Lots of players can do with extra minutes (Walker, Stones, Gundogan, Foden, Zinchenko, Fernandinho to name a few). And with no misweek games coming up, expect a very strong City side.
One certainty : Steffen in goal.

Just noticed that the EDS are playing away at Blackburn at 7pm on Friday - this will probably limit the number of youngsters involved with the first team against Swindon.

don’t understand or agree with that. The priority should be to play youngsters in the first team not the poor Eds league
3 youngsters and a strong side would do

Think Palmer should get a start, and maybe Esbrand-Wilson too if Ake moves to centre-half. Would love to see McAtee in the starting XI, but think it’s unlikely. Guardiola will want the senior players sharp for the Chelsea game.

Rumours of McAtee being loaned to Southampton (along with Delap) so not sure he'll be involved in this game if true.

E-mail from the club said they were being posted on 29th, and if they haven't arrived by tomorrow to call and they'll arrange duplicates for collection on the night.
