I think there is a silver lining in this. Shaun's not played well since the derby when he got no protection from the likes of Vidic, Evra, Fletcher et al who all took turns to kick lumps out of him.
Recently he has been suprisingly outpaced in one-to-ones, for example on Saturday when Downing made him look slow. I suspect injury and lack of confidence have combined and the break will do him good.
The home tie against Copenhagen will provide a good platform for his return. Meanwhile for the three away games we might be able to put Zabaleta on the right and bring in Elano which should give him his chance to shine.
