QPR to match his City wages according to tomorrow's Mirror so even though Shaun seems close to Bolton, QPR may win the race.

Maybe QPR could take Bellamy and Bridge as well?

If Carlsberg did transfer windows...

I seriously doubt we'll have many of our "deadwood" players leave without us subsidising their wages. Which is a real pain in the arse!

May sound mad but if they did they would prob have a good chance for staying up.

Samir Nasri's arrival at Manchester City yesterday pushed Shaun Wright-Phillips further down the pecking order at Etihad Stadium, but the winger is prepared to see out the final year of his contract with the club and move on a free transfer next summer unless one of four interested Premier League clubs match his wages.

The England international has held talks with Wigan Athletic, Bolton Wanderers and Stoke City, but a deal has yet to be struck as the offer does not match the reported basic salary of between £60,000 (Dh360,900) and £70,000 he earns at City. Qeens Park Rangers have also joined the race to sign the 29 year old.

Despite staking his claim for a place with two goals on the club's tour of America, Wright-Phillips is resigned to leaving the Abu Dhabi-owned club, where he has spent 10 years of his career, and has not ruled out a move abroad but, in the autumn of his career, he is not willing to alter his salary expectations and would be content to play a peripheral role at City before leaving at the end of the season.

With Uefa's Financial Fair Play regulations looming, City would prefer Wright-Phillips left on a permanent basis so they receive a transfer fee and remove his wages from their soaring wage bill but they may be forced to subsidise his wages, as they did when Craig Bellamy moved to Cardiff City on loan last season, to facilitate the move.

i just read this and it pisses me off to be frank qpr will match his wages but he wont go to them he must surely know he wont get a chance now :(

He just needs to leave. He won't get any game time at all at city. Qpr have offered to match his wages and pay us a fee so he should go there.

This is the problem of being weak in the transfer Market. If you let players that cost 25 - 30 million go on loans and still pay their wages the other players you want to shift take the piss as well as do the clubs that are trying to sign them.

Many fans don't seem to understand this. What you do with one player (or several in our case Bellamy, adebayor and robinho being the prime examples) has a great effect on the others you want to shift.

A few days ago Weiss was all but sold for 4 million, nedum and swp were all but sold for around 6 million or so all on permanent deals. We pussy cave in on abadayor and it seems that any half decent deals with other players we want to shift evaporate. It's hard to look at it any other way.
