How did I guess that their sentence would be immediately compared with the sentence that hasn’t happened yet for the Manchester Airport thugs? Just need a comparison with posting incitement on Facebook and chucking bricks in Southport to complete the set.

You could just give your opinion on the sentence. Comparisons do tend to happen although I admit it is daft doing it with a case not yet decided.

I'm of the opinion that violence to a person should pretty much always mean a loss of liberty, these two fucknuts should lose their weekends picking up litter in wooded areas for 2 years plus a large fine.

I agree with GDM.

It was obviously going to be a much bigger sentence than your average case of criminal damage because of the upset they knew they’d cause to many people, the notoriety they sought and the fact they wilfully destroyed an internationally recognised feature of the landscape.

Agree that violence against other people should generally be treated much more harshly than criminal damage.
