The Boxing thread

McCloskey looking for 5000 tickets for the fight with Khan they will be sold out in a flash is what I have been told when they go up. Also that blonde woman on Sky McQueen has been having a mare she has fucked up a number of times about Paulie. Paul Dudley McCloskey its Paul Dudey McCloskey.

Also Ricky Hatton is in on the fight as well. So I would expect Rickys fighters to be on the under card for this fight. Trust Ricky to get in on this fight I would guess this will do well on the PPV numbers as it will sell over here to the fight fans that cant make it and some casuals as well.

I will find out today about the prices it will cost me to head over for the fight. So will know if I can make the fight or not. Some are doing package deals and its a case of me trying to find the cheapest 1 on offer.

First batch of tickets from Paulie has been sold out already not too sure how many were in the first batch. Paulies team werent too happy with Khans team as they werent offer a lot of the £40 and £50 tickets to offer the fans over here who will have to travel over. Barry Hearns son was giving it the large 1 to Khans man who was over the tickets. It seems like they are offering Paulie a lot of the middle range to higher range tickets which will be a little bit harder to sell in a recession over here when you take into account the extras the fans have to spend on travelling and hotels.

Also it seems that the Casey V Rigo fight will be shown live on Irish tv on TV 3 not too sure if they will be streaming the fight on line yet but good news for the Irish boxing fans who cant make the fight in Dublin.

Watson v Crolla fight was some war what a win for Crolla. The KO reminded me of the Macklin v Jamie Moore whan Macklin was Ko'd a brilliant fight but Watson just looked knackered at the end of the fight. Is Crolla a blue or red? Some of the shots by both I think it could well be classed as a British fight of the year for this year.

trust me ,ant is a boxer first! well done mucka

Great to hear that John Murray has signed up with Frank Warren and his next fight is against Kevin Mitchell might be a good British fight. London v Manchester bit shocked that Warren is putting 2 of his fighters in together but fair play to him for doing this fight. I hope Murray gets the breaks and wins a world title and with Warren by his side he has a great chance to do so.

Spot on Crolla tonight he boxed beautifully I've really enjoyed his last two fights . Seems a good level headed lad too .. will look forward to him fighting Gavin Rees which IMO will win again .

As long as Crolla matches Rees' workrate, he will beat him. The Welshman has a lot of heart but not much class.
You'd be better off in the dearer seats at The MEN, Leighton, if you can afford it. You may as well watch it on TV as in the nosebleed section.
And from past experience of Khan flights, the cheap seats are full of anti-white racists from Bradford.

Even the cheapest travel for me to head over is going to cost me close to €300 thats going over by coach and hotel. Thats from Belfast. It would mean I would have to be up in Belfast the night before to get the coach so a night over there for the early start. Also coming back might require a night in Belfast again this deal includes tickets from the McCloskey gym. I am not too sure if I can get over being out of a job is the real ball breaker for me. I am waiting to find out if there is travel from Dublin the Saturday morning of the fight by a coach but so far it isnt going to happend.

This weekends boxing looks a decent. Will be looking at Frankie Gavin headlining the Sky bill. He is going to be a big star in the years to come great boxer by far the best of the Warren younger fighters I would rate him better than DeGale. Just found out that the Gavin fight is now off.

Also on the same night Premier Sports have a double header on starting with a show from London with John O Donnell v Craig Watson also on the bill Tyson Fury and Lenny Daws. Then they head over to Canada for the Junior Witter fight from 1 am I will have a look at that fight. Also Premier Sports have the rights to show Zab Judah v Kaizer Mabuza for the IBF Light Weltherweight title. Then they have the Magee v Bute fight on 19th March for a World title. Also the following week they show Dimitry Pirog v Javier Maciel I think they are going to be giving Sky a run for there money in regards to boxing.

You're forgetting about the main event mate, Donaire/Montiel. Can't wait for this one.
Me neither.

Should be a good fight but I will end up watching the Witter fight live. I will watch the Donaire fight the next day. Cant beleive that Sky cant be arsed about showing this fight live. Donaire could well go up to Super Bamtamweight and do well there as well in the coming years.

The Jones/Soto Karass rematch is on the undercard tonight, for anyone that didn't know. Jones will get the job done a lot easier this time I think.

The Tyson Fury fight and card is on Priemier Sports tonight. They are showing some decent fights in the coming weeks and they have the WSB which is worth a look at times. I am shocked no British am fighters are in it.
Heres a link to what they are showing. 3 cards tonight Fury fight Strum fight from Germany and the Witter fight and I think Buncey is doing the boxing for them.

I will be watching the Frankie Gavin fight tonight I honestly think he will be the 1 to watch this year and I expect him by the end of the year to be a European champion if they go that route with him.

He seems to be showing the Premiersports cards tonight.

-- Sat Feb 19, 2011 11:17 pm --

Some decent fights and KOs so far tonight on the British fights. Big John McDermott koing Olumbamiwo. Tyson Furys KO as well to the Brazilian a good KO. Frankie Gavin a decent combination to finish off his fight he is looking the part.
Saying that Hennessey's card won out big time tonight out of the 2 cards. All 3 live fights were worth a look. Watson getting the win over O Donnell a decent scrap. Fury fight was just like 2 sluggers at times. There main event Lenny Daws v Theopane was a good scrap as well with Theopane getting the points win. Roll on the rest of the night with the Witter fight and Donaire fight.
