Jim not everyone knows about boxing, my sister wouldn't have a clue neither would my mother, he named one in the same weight then two well known British boxers.

I think we are flogging a dead horse here......
I'm beating a retreat from here.

Good because guys it doesn't matter does it? it's no big deal.

wasnt really arsed who won just wanted to see a good fight and in the end it was , well a bit shit.
good Ko and think froch was way infront anyway

I was joking but it doesn't matter (we are all on the same team let's have banter without getting personal), Froch is going to Vegas anyway.

Good punch but I disagreed with the commentators on how the fight was going. Groves looked quite comfortable until that punch but fair play to Froch he set it up well.

Let's see him take on Andre Ward, that would truly prove he is a great if he could beat him. Don't think he wants anything to do with Ward though.
Froch has nothing to prove, just shows if the ref had not stopped the last fight, Groves would have got hurt badly. Well done Karl, a true pro and boxer. Respect.
I'm not trying to take anything away from him, he's done great since he lost to ward. But the fact does remain he looked outclassed by Ward and it's the only loss he hasn't avenged. Froch is world class, but strange as it sounds I would rate Ward as elite. Im just not sure he's confident in winning that fight, he said Ward will probably retire unbeaten..

this thread had me thinking about what City could do in the future, especially if they built a new stadium for NYCFC, or even used Yankee stadium.

A dual boxing card, dual main-events, one half at the Etihad and then it's followed up with the card from the US.

I think that could be something awesome in years to come.

Not watched any boxing in years but I just ordered the channel that's showing this fight. I have no idea who these two are to be honest, hopefully it's a good fight.

The more groves trashed talked leading up to the fight and froch stayed quiet unlike the last time, I had a feeling it would end badly for groves and damn did it end very badly for groves. That punch would have rocked his ancestors

Froch focused on the fight, Groves focused on the media, outcome was not obvious but was easy to predict...Put a bet on for the Froch KO, and it happened, my winnings have been blown but I'm happy for Froch, especially on the back of his, referees decision, naysayers

Thought Froch was pretty impressive last night. Opinions seem to differ as to who was actually winning before the knock out, well I had Froch winning and looking fairly comfortable and the reason he was able to knock him out is because Groves had to come out and attack due to losing the battle tactically.

Very few would have been able to carry on after that punch. As was mentioned last night, it was very similar to Lennox Lewis getting nailed by Hasim Rahman;

Poor from groves to get tagged by that just when he was getting a foothold in the fight. fucking hell if you can't defend the old one two then you have no business fighting for world titles. Frochs legend is assured he should call it a day now.
Not fair to say groves has no right boxing for world titles because he got caught by a one two. Pac man walked on to a straight right and is a 7 weight champion, frochs movement and speed of punch done groves the right was coming before the left had tagged him amd it was almost a counter punch as groves had swung, froch done his homework from the last fight and knew groves would throw the left to counter

To be honest it was a close fight until the KO and what a brilliant shot Froch caught Groves with. The cards at the time had Froch up in 2 and Groves up in 1. Groves landed more punches than Froch again and I thought he was getting better and going to kick on. And now its time for him to rebuild again. I think his trainer may well be gone and him moving back to Adam Booth be a good option. Also his new deal with Saurland could see him fight for another World title within 2 fights. I think Groves will win a World title still.

Also nice to see Jamie McDonnell winning the world title he should be double world champion only for being stripped of 1 of his belts. Also the Mitchell fight was a good 1 too. A good card on the night.

Spot on mate, most knockout punches come from a "lazy" left jab followed by a straight right , very hard to defend against, check out marciano ko on jersey joe walcot, still the best ko ever imo.

I'd have said he was hook, think he was believing his own propaganda, never a shot I could make.

I think he got over confident after taking most of Frochs shots earlier. He was countering with his left hook after blocking the initial jab (something he said he would catch Froch with) when he was actually cornered and should have been covering up to slip when Froch went on his crazy punch solos.

Can you stop wanking off this loudmouth leighton. Groves has looked better in the 2 Froch fights than he ever did under Booth.

Another display of shit punditry by Jim Watt again last night. Does this man have dirt on the sky execs? How the fuck is he still in the job?! As is the Jim Watt blueprint, he basically decided who he was gonna score all the rounds for after about 5 minutes and just ignore every shot that the other guy lands. In this case he was ridiculously biased in favour of Froch.

I had Groves a round up going into the 8th and he was winning the 8th up till the KO. Although I am happy Froch proved the doubters wrong yet again.
