From what i am hearing from all around the gym its been there best training camp for years. They fucked up in the American fight took the guy for granted and made sure everything was right for this fight. He made the weight easy is what I was hearing on Wednesday evening he was within the limit to fight back then. The final press conference was Carl getting his own back on Eddie Hearn , Joe Gallagher and Quigg with the dressing room stuff. I heard he played Stevie Wonder Supersition at the conference. Also hearing rumours that the Superstition song some of it will be involved in Carls ringwalk come tomorrow night. Now not too sure if thats right or not.
The tickets things. Each fighter is given X amount of tickets to sell on the card all of Carls tickets were sold. I think some of the other lads found it hard to sell there tickets from Cyclone promotions while there is what i am hearing a lot of Irish fans were told in advance to get tickets from the arena and other options as Framptons went asap. I know it sounds mad but its true Carl got I think 10 tickets from Quigg for some of his friends as he had none left to sell.
As for the fight going by the fighters in and around Frampton Haye , George Groves have all came out and said they couldnt believe what Carl has been doing in the gym and if he takes the gym work into the ring he will have too much for him. I think Carl will win it by what I aint too sure. I know Carl could out box Quigg and if he wants to go for a late stoppage he could do. He is so relaxed its crazy leading into this fight that he has wanted years. I can see it being competitive for the first 4 rounds then Carls boxing skills taking over. Also feel a late stopage is there for Carl if he wants it fighting in Quiggs back yard he will need to put Quigg down to win the fight as at times you just cant leave it up to the judges.
Yeah this should be the fight of the weekend. Cruiserweight's a really good division recently with some proper slugfest fights. It pisses me off how Bellew rates himself as a prospective world champ yet he won't go anywhere near the top guys. Afolabi v Bellew could be a fairly big fight with a bit of build up.Another good scrap on the cards in Germany tomorrow with Marco Huck fighting Ola Afolabi. Think this is the 4th meeting, amazing how both managed to stay on their feet in that last round, both were completely shot. I expect another close one.
Will be cheering Scott on as he's a North West lad and the Englishman.
Frampton is a brilliant fighter and I wouldn't be surprised if this goes either way, or even and early stoppage by Frampton. I honestly believe he has better one punch power than Quigg, not the other way round as most suggest.
I think Quigg has improved immensely in the last 2 years or so. If he boxes at range and keeps a good pace without getting dragged into it too early, it is definitely possible. Whatever happens I hope there's mutual respect afterwards, and that the trainers don't overshadow it as I expect.
Regardless of result, I can see a rematch and then onto Leo Santa Cruz.
This is well over-hyped, but at least whoever wins knows they will be undisputed no 2 rank at 8st 10lbs. I wonder why neither wanted to fight Ringondeaux?
Leo is fighting Kiko some time soon.
Carl is saying he will fight Rigondeaux but they are in a no win situation as both the IBF and WBA have a mandatories for there titles set so the winner will have to pick from Rigondeaux or the IBF mandatory Otake i think it is or some other Japanese fighter.
Yer, he fights Kiko tonight mate over in the U.S.
I think if Frampton wins tonight he may go up to Featherweight and take it from there. Can't see either beating Santa Cruz at either weight.
