The Boxing thread

Bellew is a fool. I remember talking to him about his fight with Ovil McKenzie saying he was lucky to get the win. He took offence and invited myself to get in the ring with him. Cant take people pointing out his weakness. Saying that I think he will win a world title but hope he doesnt.

Yes I did see Andrew, when Lee said his brother was better than he was, I thought it was the usual sibling talking the other up, but he looked every bit the talent we have been promised, looks destined for the top.

Crackers it was only his 5th fight but he already looks a cut above... A few more tune ups and big things will be expected... He'd also be a revelation in the states, they love guys like him!!

Yeah, I think it he'd had 3 fights when it was being talked about being the fastest to British and world titles. He is a bit older at 27 than usual new starters but his style and everything seems perfect for the pro ranks.

Agree about the states.

Bellew haters 10 - 1 Peoffrey...

He strikes me as being quite humble and down to earth. I know Scousers and they'd be queuing up to give him a dig if he was Billy Big Bollocks. He's no Eubank is he?

Goes to show how much of a mess some of these governing bodies can be.

Tom Stalker has got a shot at the vacant WBO european for the 3rd consecutive fight after drawing twice with Craig Evans. To make sure he gets it 3rd time round they have dug up some 40 year old Portuguese fella with a 30-15 record. Quite clearly just trying to blag him a WBO rating so they can stick him in with Flanagan for an easy Manchester vs Liverpool defence for Terry

Andrew Selby is a classy fighter. You should see his fights with Michael Conlan when they were ams truely good fights. With Conlan more than likely to turn Pro 2 these 2 fighting each other in the pro ranks will be the fight I want to see. Conlan is only 24 and I honestly feel he gets the gold at Rio if he stays fit.

a link to the Selby v Conlan fight from 3 years ago.

He's a cliche scouser
Always going on about fighting for his kids
In fact don't know if I've seen an interview where he doesn't go on about his kids

Also Eubank Jnr vs Tom Doran annouced for the June 25th PPV card.

Dorans never been past 6 rounds and his last scrap was that belter with Luke Keeler where both fighters saw the canvas before it got stopped in the 2nd.

Saunders may as well do the same!
True! I rate Saunders and believe he is the best of these shores. But even he doesn't want to know. Remember this and saying he'd need an AK47 to beat GGG:

The "traveler way" when they are coming up through the ranks, is if you call them out, you have fight them. When they get to an elite level, it's only if the money is stupid that they'll fight their fellow elite fighters - no 50/50 purse basically. I think Sky washed their hands of Fury and BJS despite them both being talented.

So GGG has them all running from him. He is the most feared fighter out there at teh moment and he aint at his peak. I hope he moves up and calls out Andre Ward. Also feel that some of the fighters out there are scared to loose there 0. I think with the likes of Chris Eubank Jnr , Andy Lee and Billy Joe there next in line seems that Canelo is running. Chris Eubank Jnr is fighting Tom Doran its a step down but a quick easy fight he should be in a title eliminator by now. The Doran Keeler fight was a great fight and Keller had him going and maybe should of won the fight if he didnt go all out for the KO when he had Doran going.

Canelo's(154lb Light Middleweight) vacated the belt but negotiations are taking place for a bout... GGG(160lb Middleweight) doesn't fancy a catchweight though which without the belts is the fairest way to get a bout sorted. Disagree? like I also said let's see how GGG does moving up weight against Ward(168lb Super Middleweight) then?

Am I right in thinking the Middleweight division isn't so hot at the moment regarding legitimate Middleweight fighters if you take away GGG?

Who is there who can be considered near the top ranked P4P?

All I see is Jacobs, Saunders, Eubank Jr, Hassan N'Dam... there's no mega-fight there.

You would have Andy Lee in there too. He is in exciting fights and is still a bit of a draw out in the US. Also Jason Quigley if he keeps progressing the way he is he will be in some big fights in the next year or so. He will go into the big fights sooner or later with Golden Boy as promoters.
