Yep, you’d think the Royal family would actually do something to push back on all these rumours instead of making things worse and more confusing to the British public.

You mean like putting statements out stating that the King hasn’t in fact died, or that Kate Middleton is still breathing, everytime some weirdo starts putting absurd bollocks on Twitter that all the mugs on here start reposting?

You would do well to remember that statements have in fact been released about the King’s cancer treatment and the timeline around the Princess of Wales’ recovery. Nobody needs to know the details around her operation and she deserves to have some privacy on the matter, like anybody else would. There’s nothing confusing about that.

The Kate Middleton story hasn’t been handled well at all.
They’ve given the Twitter nutters something to latch onto.

That’s always the glib comeback, isn’t it, that they need to ‘modernise’. It’s a blanket term used by people that don’t actually have an argument, and who simply don’t agree with a particular decision.

The King has been incredibly open about his health issues. The Princess of Wales has chosen not to disclose the details around her operation - at this time at least - and she has a right to do that. There’s nothing old fashioned or secretive about that, it’s her right to have privacy. Do you think removing any privacy around a health issue represents progress or modernity? I would beg to differ on that front.

Positing an edited photograph obviously wasn’t a good decision but then if they had simply ignored social media it wouldn’t have happened.

It’s a Social media, digital age. They managed to modernise from going round stabbing people on horses, so they can probably manage to communicate better than leaving a card on an easel or releasing old, already used photos.

They probably have thousands of photos that people haven’t seen to use and calm the narrative down, yet they’re playing it like they’ve got Ant and Dec whispering in their ears.

Crazy, isn’t it? A simple message saying “The King and Princess of Wales are doing well, but both are continuing to convalesce and request privacy to continue at this time. We are thankful of your warm wishes of support.”

That do the trick, as long as they didn’t have a photo of Kate with one leg underneath it.
