The British Monarchy

Judging by McKellen’s recent comments, it actually sounds like Her Majesty had him down to a tee. Like she did with pretty much everyone in fact.

A woman of limited intellect, bland interests e.g. dogs and horses, who married her cousin.

Is that the late queen or a member of the caravan dwelling community?

In the royal families of Europe it is de rigeur to marry your cousin, they have all done it for centuries. There are just half a dozen families all inter connected by marriage. Phil the Greek was actually a Romanov. Often the consanguinity has been much closer than Liz was to Phil which probably accounts for the limited intellectual ability they all display. Our current king is particularly thick.

What is your frame of reference for intellect? It seems to me, that based on metrics that actually mattered in her role: reading people and situations, strategic foresight, understanding complex issues and commanding respect from those she interacted with, she had great powers of mental acuity.

Apart from Ian Mckellen though obviously?

The respect comes automatically with the job.

I was being facetious tbh. We know remarkably little about Elizabeth Windsor the person because she created a deliberately bland public persona.

Maybe that's her fine intellect on display compared to the male buffoons that preceeded her or maybe she was just bland.

I didn’t say everyone she interacted with.

I get that she was bland and had very ordinary, conservative tastes but based on what I’ve observed she was a very funny woman, which redeems her personality greatly from the dullness in my eyes.

And would you have as much admiration of her if she was the same person but without an inherited title?
