The British Monarchy

And would you have as much admiration of her if she was the same person but without an inherited title?
That’s very difficult for anyone to answer completely honestly, but I find funny women hugely attractive and believe she had innate integrity and was ultimately benign, so my best stab at an answer, broadly speaking, is yes, with the caveat that I’d probably be less inclined to consider those traits or comment upon them if she was a civilian.

freeloading cunts mainly take more back than they give
friends and family of nonces
outdated elitist system not fit for the modernage
inbred
possibly linked to murder ;-)

let the cunts carry on being slum landlords but with stritch proerty rules and fines for the state of some of their properties
let them keep the duchy of lancashire and cornwall as it is privately owned, but now take away the tax exemptions

Imediately stop the soverign grant and use the 500M to help the economic deficit and heat pensioners homes.

Imediately make it so all crown estates prifits go into the treasury not only a %

move every one of them into buckingham palace and make the rest into public parks/tourist attractions not private houses, you don't need a palce or mansion each you wankers

I have mentioned previously in this thread about the book by Norman Baker which explains, amongst other things, the unique tax & money making benefits the royal family ‘enjoy’
It’s a very good, well researched book which I thoroughly recommend to anyone who has an interest in understanding the workings of the royals & how we, the tax payers, are getting well & truly mugged.

I like them, I think they do a great job and bring in more money to the country than they cost.
missing the point completely, what they bring and what they make privately means they shpuld be self sufficient, we should not pay a penny for them or gift them land or profits from nationally owned assets.

The 500M they cost the treasury and the tax free benefits they get, that money could be better used for the good of the citizens.

They have enough to pay their way and they are just people not special or better, just fortunate tbf

The being patrons of charities and then charging them over the top rentals on their buildings is shocking behaviour, if a major business did it people would be kicking off.

I get why people like the royal family, they certainly get plenty of good press & have many ‘royal experts’ telling us how amazing they are, but I honestly suggest reading this book. It’s very well researched & pretty balanced giving credit where it is due, whilst also lifting the veil of secrecy on the historical & current excesses of the royal family.
It might just amend your view of them.
‘They bring in more money than they cost’ argument is very clearly addressed too & shown to be nothing more than good PR from the palace & their client journalists.
In 2011, the civil list payments to the royal family was £7.9m. This has now changed from the civil list to the sovereign grant where the royals are supposed to pay for many things themselves, such as staff costs. In 2025 this will increase to £132m a year, with the uk taxpayer still funding a significant amount of things anyway.
This is also addressed well on the republic website.
