The Carlos Tevez Thread (Merged)

More important than Mancini, whom the owner was (gritting his teeth) honour-bound to back.

However, clearly the golfing-wanker is despised by his team mates as the last few weeks has shown.

The unceasing display of affection and respect in unguarded moments towards Mancini by the players since Munich leaves no doubt in my mind about who caused or exacerbated a difficult situation.

We have always looked a better side with Carlos in it, the ball sticks up front better and he is capable of anything like the first goal today shows.

Will be a huge loss, however much of a twat he is as I cannot immediately think of a realistic replacement that would offer something similar.

Like for like? Probably Lavezzi.

Maybe he is actually staying?

Don't believe all the bullshit in the press.

Tevez and Aguero are the clubs dream team...

the club should do everything to keep hold of him.

we can guarantee him a starting berth as well imo

Can anybody say 100% that Carlos won't do the same/similar thing next season if he stays? The relationship with RM is obviously strained, whatever is said. I couldn't for sure trust that either men wouldn't throw their toys out of the pram, could you?

What was the song about him being sung towards the end of the match yesterday?
It sounded like something different to "Carlos Tevez, he plays when he wants."

'he wants to go home'. it was a pisstake of the norwich fans who sang this at the start, before the hatrick

Pretty sure he signed a five year contract when he signed in 2009.
I did a Google search on 'Tevez contract expires', and got January 2014 in several instances.

Contract expires: Jan 7, 2014

If that's wrong, that changes things slightly in our favour but still if no-one was willing to stump up £25m-£30m last window, I cannot see a reason why it would happen this window given that all the factors which influence fees in our favour have deteriorated.
That's why we shouldn't sell but extend his contract.

Player contracts never expire in Jan, they always run through to summer - in which case I'd assume Carlos' runs out in June 2014.
