Agree on the majority but please can we all stop kidding ourselves that Mangala is going to come good. He was laughably about 3 yards out of position with the defensive line for Smalling's goal. Certainly no worse than Kompany at the moment but its about time we all just accepted that we've bought a dud.

But we don't accept that. He was wanted by many clubs. He needs a run of games. He's young. Most foreign CBs have a tough/poor first season. Confidence & support is what he is lacking

Being wanted by other clubs isn't a confirmation of him being good. It can just as easily confirm that we aren't the only team capable of being interested in duds. However, none of the others actually bought him, and we did. They (arguably) didn't think he was worth what be paid, or they'd have put in a bigger bid.

He MIGHT actually turn out to be very good after all. But a 40m price tag rather suggests we were buying into a ready mean defender, not one where we are left waiting to see.

Boateng!!!

Well that's the thing. Mancini would never work here with a DOF, I am sure we could all see that. So knowing Soriano and Begiristain were coming, why not accept his resignation? That seems like weak management and if these ADUG guys are anything, they are not weak managers.

You keep saying this.

In what way did Mancini tell "the Sheik to piss off".

I'm interested. I also think it is absolute crap.

So go on, fill in the details since you seem so informed.
After handing in his notice or threatening to a number of times, showing a complete lack of respect to Soriano and Begiristain and generally being an arsehole, he was told to go to Abu Dhabi after we played Newcastle. He saw Simon Pearce and possibly the Sheikh himself (not 100% sure about that that) and was told he would either work as part of a team or he was gone. He made it clear he wanted to have sole control or nothing so he came back in little doubt about his fate. That was the final straw and a board meeting to ratify his sacking took place on the Thursday or Friday before the derby. There's no possibility he didn't know about that or wasn't expecting it.

Where is all this handing his resignation in numerous times coming from?

Are you just believing everything you read in the papers and taking it as gospel?

Their 1st goal was a lucky rebound against the run of play , 2 of their goals were offside , we were robbed. :)

Premier League chief executive Richard Scudamore admits that Manchester United’s struggles this season have damaged the global appeal of the competition.

Considered one of the world’s biggest sporting brands, United have a huge fan-base outside the UK, and their slump since Sir Alex Ferguson was replaced by David Moyes has already affected commercial success.

Speaking during a promotional visit to Johannesburg, Scudamore told Bloomberg: ‘It’s a double-edged sword. When your most popular club isn’t doing as well, that costs you interest and audience in some places.

sorry mate , it was a WUM , there was no agenda today , we were a shambles. But football is a business , the premier league do not want their stellar name in the competiton struggling , just like twatini wouldnt want real, barca or bayern out of the champs league , its all about the money ,money ,money , and we have boat loads of it , so we will be OK.

If Twatini lets us spend, we will be walking titles every season. Now we are just forced to buy dross and suffer. We will have to encash on Toure etc now.

All the talk of our players not being bothered is tiresome. It's that mentality that's stopping us from progressing...some of them just aren't good enough and we were beat by a tactically better team today. The dirty rags were very good.

Partly because we just sat off them and watched.

Can we quite this revisionism. Mancini was sacked because he refused to work with the people he needed to work with and basically told the Sheikh to piss off when he was asked to do that. And 2012/13 wasn't a great deal better than this season has been.

I don't disagree that some of the players are past their sell-by date and need to be moved on. But to say it's a disgrace that the owners backed the players over Mancini is utter and complete bollocks. Macini was 100% the architect of his own downfall, from the day he handed his resignation letter in just after we won the title.

You keep saying this.

I have no idea whether or not you are "in the loop" to this extent but I doubt it. So Mancini threatened to resign several times and showed complete lack of respect to the Spanish duo ? He saw the Sheik himself (maybe) ? Blah blah blah.

Some members will remember your disgraceful wumming about Mancini followed by your subsequent numerous apologies (many moons ago and before you were a mod of course).

However, what you seem to be saying above is that Mancini had a big enough pair of bollocks to manage a top team.
However, what you appear to be saying above is that Mancini actually had a pair of bollocks.

In January 2014 I recall Alan Hansen on MoTD stating we were playing as 'The Best side in the world' and who could argue with our free scoring style as The Beast , Aguero & Dzeko demolished opposition.

What has gone wrong .. For me it was losing and not replacing Negredo , Toure trashing any authority the Club held with his Summer antics, compounded by piss poor signings and a Manager who has no clue how to adapt to an opponent.
