Agree on the majority but please can we all stop kidding ourselves that Mangala is going to come good. He was laughably about 3 yards out of position with the defensive line for Smalling's goal. Certainly no worse than Kompany at the moment but its about time we all just accepted that we've bought a dud.

But we don't accept that. He was wanted by many clubs. He needs a run of games. He's young. Most foreign CBs have a tough/poor first season. Confidence & support is what he is lacking

Being wanted by other clubs isn't a confirmation of him being good. It can just as easily confirm that we aren't the only team capable of being interested in duds. However, none of the others actually bought him, and we did. They (arguably) didn't think he was worth what be paid, or they'd have put in a bigger bid.

He MIGHT actually turn out to be very good after all. But a 40m price tag rather suggests we were buying into a ready mean defender, not one where we are left waiting to see.

Well that's the thing. Mancini would never work here with a DOF, I am sure we could all see that. So knowing Soriano and Begiristain were coming, why not accept his resignation? That seems like weak management and if these ADUG guys are anything, they are not weak managers.

He saw Simon Pearce and possibly the Sheikh himself (not 100% sure about that that) and was told he would either work as part of a team or he was gone. He made it clear he wanted to have sole control or nothing so he came back in little doubt about his fate. That was the final straw and a board meeting to ratify his sacking took place on the Thursday or Friday before the derby. There's no possibility he didn't know about that or wasn't expecting it.

I don't disagree that some of the players are past their sell-by date and need to be moved on. I have no idea whether or not you are "in the loop" to this extent but I doubt it. So Mancini threatened to resign several times and showed complete lack of respect to the Spanish duo ? He saw the Sheik himself (maybe) ? Blah blah blah.

What has gone wrong .. For me it was losing and not replacing Negredo , Toure trashing any authority the Club held with his Summer antics,compounded by piss poor signings and a Manager who has no clue how to adapt to an opponent.
