Big win for the club if you do let three SCs go. They won't be offered as SCs to the huge number of people desperate for one but will instead be sold at match day prices.

There was a couple of other reasons, but the parking situation was a big part on me giving up my season ticket, held since 1983.
But as noted by others, I really don't believe that the club care in the slightest...
 
Not wishing to bring attention to that other lot in Stretford but there was a story on MEN saying a similar attitude to their fans with restrictions been bought in around their ground also. They are trying to get rid of antisocial parking and believe the adding of more cycle bays will resolve the situation.

These parking restrictions make no sense whatsoever, it's not as though they are in a residential area. Riverpark Road now has double yellow down one side and permit holders down the other. Same with Briscoe Lane, where there's no double yellow they've now added permit holder parking there too.

I understand how you feel but there are alternatives. You can park at Ashton park and park for free and then get the tram in. It's a free carpark with 4 charging points for electric vehicles. It's also next to Ashton motorway junction of M60.

Whilst I don’t like to take the piss but 184 car parking spaces is hardly adequate on a match day.

Nevertheless, it is an option. Just not the panacea we’re hoping for.

But what is? Better public transport I’d say but this country is about 30 years behind others (Italy, Spain, Germany etc etc)

Hell, India probably have better public transport than the shit show we get served up.

There's a parking rack under the stadium bridge that looks like it can hold about 50 bikes. Last game i went there wasn't a single bike parked there. I may use it in the future though as i can cycle about 8 miles to the stadium mostly on Ashton canal.

There’s also a lot of paid parking around for £5 upwards. Whether there’s enough, well we’re going to find out tonight!

I think a lot of the uneasiness is just that people are being forced to change their long-term habits and, unfortunately, pay extra. For a group of 4 people, changing to public transport would cost us £400 to £500 minimum a year, a significant amount, so if we can park for £120 it makes more sense. Still though, more than free. Sadly however, I can see parking prices only going one way.
