I agree, Mike. It isn't a big car park but it's an alternative. I used to park on Clayton Lane but that all yellow lines now so I've been catching the bus from Stalybridge to Ashton and getting the tram. Because the tram terminates there it's fairly easy to get on but by the time it gets to Droylsden its absolutely rammed like it is when catching the tram from town.Whilst I don’t like to take the piss but 184 car parking spaces is hardly adequate on a match day.
Nevertheless, it is an option. Just not the panacea we’re hoping for.
But what is? Better public transport I’d say but this country is about 30 years behind others (Italy, Spain, Germany etc etc)
Hell, India probably have better public transport than the shit show we get served up.
Yes they probably will.Big win for the club if you do let three SCs go. They won't be offered as SCs to the huge number of people desperate for one but will instead be sold at match day prices.
I wonder if they’ve thought of giving us a plastic card we could swipe to get in, oh wait…..Yes they probably will.
I'm just a bit pissed off with the club at the moment.
The week after my season cards went into my wallet I damaged my phone beyond repair rang the club to send new links to download into my wallet and was told they are unable to do so as problem with Google.
I now have to ring up every four games and they email tickets in blocks of four.
I understand this has nothing to do with parking but it's just another reason I'm losing patience with the club.
I have got plastic card and the reason is I have a work phone and therefore wont have google wallet on it so for past few years have requested paper tickets which I have collected 7 days prior to fixture, this season club told me this was no longer an option, so my other options were 1, on phone 2, print at home or 3 , physical card and i was finally given a physical cardI wonder if they’ve thought of giving us a plastic card we could swipe to get in, oh wait…..
But then it’s getting back to Ashton after the match with huge queues for a tram.I understand how you feel but there are alternatives. You can park at Ashton park and park for free and then get the tram in. It's a free carpark with 4 charging points for electric vehicles. It's also next to Ashton motorway junction of M60.

I’d think twice mate before you decide to give up your STs.
I agree, and with parking restrictions now in place tram queues will only get bigger. But then it’s getting back to Ashton after the match with huge queues for a tram.
Travel after final whistle often stresses me because I just want to get off.
Yep, if it was that bad then thing how bad it will be with thousands more trying to use it.But then it’s getting back to Ashton after the match with huge queues for a tram.

I definitely suffer from stress on busy metrolink but find the London Underground mostly okay. Weird. But then it’s getting back to Ashton after the match with huge queues for a tram.

I gave mine up last season and haven't regretted it at all.I’d think twice mate before you decide to give up your STs.
Anybody know the situation on Ashton New Road with the permit?
Have thought about giving up my season card a few times. Mainly because I have 3 kids. 2 of them are 7 and 8 and love City but I cannot get them a seasoncard so makes it difficult arranging for my parents etc to have them whilst I go to the game. All going tonight though as managed to get 2 tickets sat directly in front of my seat thankfully.
It looks like Ashton New Road is a no go from now on, looks like its permit bays all the way up to Edge Lane in Tameside now.
Please don’t divert more to the Ashton trams that service is bad enough as it is!… getting home that way is tragicI understand how you feel but there are alternatives. You can park at Ashton park and park for free and then get the tram in. It's a free carpark with 4 charging points for electric vehicles. It's also next to Ashton motorway junction of M60.

yeah it's all sameI can confirm everything from the stadium up to edge lane is now restricted to 90 mins or permits I have just been down there. That’s Canberra Coatbridge north road stokes road etc. Folkestone road east and west. Everything has now gone from stadium to town, Ashton old road and edge lane. Not been down the other side towards Oldham road but assume it’s the same
All very valid points Lavinda, I guess eventually we all find a reason(s) to stop attending, for me it will be any further increases in matchday ticket prices, which is inevitable I guess.I gave mine up last season and haven't regretted it at all.
I don't miss the travelling to and from the ground, the parking fiasco every game, the long walks in all kinds of weather to/from whatever space I eventually find, the cost of fuel and parking, or the 'atmosphere' in the ground, surrounded by different faces every game.
I've seen every minute of every game this season from the comfort of my own home, thanks to the wonders of TV and the Internet.
The club wants (and increasingly needs) football tourists to boost revenue. Traditional fans don't fit the bill any more.
I'm a Blue for life, but the City Group' plastic marketing machine has managed to put me off actually going to games for good. .
Thanks. Looks like its going to be a long walk then if i park past Edge Lane!
