I couldn't agree more, the press has always been like this, ever since the first printing press was invented. They put their own slant on the news, be it political, or commercial reasons, they can hound and harass with the best of them. The problem with Megan Markle is that she inhabited the very parochial world of entertainment, where she and her kind are daily told how wonderful they are, just look at the Oscars to see the antics there. Self congratulatory, mutual adoration taken to the limit, the only thing she had to worry about was someone criticising her pretending job.The press and media in general can certainly pick on a person and make their life a misery when they want. Look what they did to poor Caroline Flack, but is that vilification racist or is it just picking on a easy target or a person they want to make out as the bad person as it sells papers? I think its the latter, sadly the media do it with people from all walks of life.
When, after the first show of love and admiration from the British public started to cool because of her attitude, it came as a shock, and we are where we are.
