Taxi, I am but a humble pipefitter, now working in Bristol.

My lad will be up for the Barca game but as it stands I won't be, however if you are driving to the game, I can pass on details so pick up can be arranged?

You have a pm by the way :p

i dare say we could post it for less than a ten spot

I meant the Euro Barca ; )
Seem to remember you telling me you were flying from London way
Off to pit shortly,I missed the film with the other half and she is well not happy
Tomorrow though we have the day to ourselves and blackpool is possibly on the cards
What more could a woman want

All the best Bilbo and Ben

Ok mate, post it if it's better, let me know and I'll pm you my address.

Yep will be going Barca away, seeya there!

Evening all

I was bottling my cider last night and thought i'd have a practice of video making before I attempt to make one of my first all grain brew. If you have 10 minutes spare, and you feel inclined, please have a watch and let me know what you think. I know there are some sound issues as the recording came out very quiet and the camera angle isn't great at times!

Cheers!

It must be nerve racking and difficult to constantly talk ad lib and you have produced a very good video indeed.
A picture speaks a thousand words

Yes the sound is a little low so I turned up the volume to maximum and it was fine with no distortion
And then,oh boy oh boy when your clever musical interlude kicked in and nearly blew the roof of the house.
Turn it fookin down she shrieked, well it is two in the morning so fair comments
Did you film it on a camcorder or on a phone.
If on a phone how do you get the writing on and the interludes etc

Have you brewed this cider before and which is your best recommendation for a cider out of the ones you have completed.
Used to be a good cider drinker with my tastes leaning towards the Strongbow.
Yes I know its never seen an apple but it tastes just right for my palate.
Had to curb it back in the day as it used to give me horrendous heartburn.
Looking forward to your step by step guide to your first mash.
All the best pal

Bilbo I will nip to the post office to see if its viable to post as I have thrown you a few bits and bobs in and its a right big old box for sure. If it's way too dear I will meet up with your lad when he is up for the Barca and he can have a few bottles of Chianti for his papping around.
I take it he is driving up ?
Have a quickie scoop with you in Barca if your knocking about pal.
Fish market did some cracking tapas last year half way down ramblas and then we both went on for the gathering in Placa Real.
Tip top off license just through the narrow alleyway and cheap as chips.
What is your itinerary for the Barca.
Adios for now

Cheers for the feedback Taxi! I recorded it on my phone, transferred the files to computer and used windows movie maker to edit. I made a camera stand out of an egg box and put it on the kitchen Worktop. I had to record it late at night when the kids were in bed, but that is also the reason it is so quiet as i didn't want to wake anyone up. Apologies for the rather loud interludes though, ill turn them down so it's not such a difference between the recording and the fancy bits!

It was less nerve wracking and more just weird talking to the camera. It is definitely a skill and its hard to not feel a little bit crazy while doing it!

Never done a cider before and not a big cider drinker. The kit i used was a bulldog premium cider. My dad reckons its great (he likes his cider). I'll do a taste test video in a couple of weeks and we can see what its like!

Cheers!

I've changed the audio now so the music isn't quite so loud!

Enjoyed the video mate - nice one.

Just bought myself all ingredients needed for a Stella clone, and an 8 gallon pot, I have my corny keg and gas all ready to go too.

Off to NZ soon, so I'll be brewing this and letting it go whilst away.

Have a great trip pal
Somewhere we both yearned to go was NZ
A Stella clone sounds good
What was the recipe ?
All the best and have a brilliant time down under
Adios;

Simple recipe Taxi.

4.3KG Pilsner Malt
60G saaz hops in total
500G brewing sugar
Irish moss

Spoke to the guy at LHBS and he advised that Stella get their taste by using the above with brewing sugar and suggested 500G. Worked well as I'm expecting 4.8 - 5.5% depending how well it attenuates. Using a brewferm lager yeast.

Can't wait.

Sounds great! Is it fermenting now? Im still waiting on some equipment to arrive before i get going. Can't wait though. Keep us updated Tiny!

Not fermenting yet, just waiting for a woodfords wherry to finish (done tomorrow) and a red wine to finish off (sunday), before i can stick this in. The lager yeast ferments at 12 degrees or so, which is a lot lower than the wherry and the wine. It'll be done for Tuesday when i get off to NZ and then left for two weeks, i'll then transfer to secondary for a week and then kegged.

I'll take some pics of the set-up and the brew if anyone is interested!

Keep brewing buddies!
