Starmer has started OKish, his cabinet has no real surprises (Streeting scares me to fuck though), the messaging appears co-ordinated, but it is not really that inspiring. It is like watching England, it is a bit dull and Starmer is Southgate. Like Southgate though he has a chance of glory, my thoughts are does he have the courage to grasp that glory and really enact change, is Reeves really a radical CotE, Cooper had very little to say today that will impress anyone who has valid concerns about immigration, Lammy's notion of progressive realism as Foreign Sec is interesting and he has an impressive contact book, i can envisage him becoming increasing powerful in the Govt.
The RW nutjob attacks on Angela Rayner have been interesting, surprisingly a lot of right wing men are experts on women's fashion. They do not attack her views they attack her as a person, pretty sad that really. I would love her as PM.
One of the most delightful outcomes of the election is that there are now more MP's from Parrs Wood high school in the cabinet than people from Eton :))
Starmer has a lot of work to do, he become PM with a dreadful approval rating, possibly the worst in history, the party got less votes than under Corbyn. Politics needs fixing, we need to get back to trust in our MP's and our Parliament and if any Labour MP does something wrong they need booting out ASAP not protected like Johnson tried with his mates.
My stance on Starmer is well documented on here, but I do wish him well, I do hope we see a bit of the Socialist he claims to be, I do hope his cabinet make our country a better place because by fuck after 14 years of being run by selfish cunts we need it.
