Jesus - its Brexit " Britain will thrive" and Covid 19 " I've done my own research" again isn't it. No tax advice sought but happy to spout tax law ........ wonder from who and where they get their info from?

Of course not, that's my point.

Rather ironically the only people who actually benefits is the rich and major agri corporations because we'll see a depression in land values. That's a huge opportunity to buy up land from farmers who are edged into the tax bracket, or people who just can't be arsed with it.

Obviously the government is saying that only a handful will be affected but I'm not so sure. If that was the case and farmers have done their sums then it's hard to understand why they're protesting. I wouldn't turn up to protest against something that doesn't affect me.

The optics however aren't great when the protest is fronted by a multi-millionaire like Jeremy Clarkson and Andrew Lloyd-Webber in a £1500 Canada Goose coat....

How do you make it illegal for a company to be registered in the acayman Islands though?

If we did, it might make the Glazers sell up, so we’ve got to be careful.

I would counter that by pointing out that Clarkson is very popular with the public in general though, much more so than any politician.

You can't really, I read an article a few years back where 99 of the FTSE 100 companies used offshore tax havens. That's our own UK registered companies and not even the Amazons and Starbucks of this world.
 
No need to arrest them the thick pricks are displaying number plates. Just note them down and rather JSO them rock up on their doorsteps in a few weeks time like the Police do with racist rioters. I mean number plates for fucks sake - all revolutionaries had state registered identifiable plates don't they lol ???

Well, if land values are depressed or fall then the IHT threshold is less likely to be breached and no (or less) IHT will be paid.

Although the same farmers will no doubt protest that the Govt has trashed the value of their farms.

In short they want high value farms and to pay no tax. Sort of having your cake and eating it scenario. Not going to say they are coming across as self-entitled fuckers, but…

Labour will backtrack and you and others in here will laud the decision and claim you never once defended the policy in the first place.
 
I lost respect for farmers back during the foot and mouth outbreak which they milked and by deliberately spreading by selling barrels of infected cattle blood for lots of money on the black market between eachother in order to claim the govt money that was on offer for them
