The Labour Government

I blame the voters, to be honest.

If voters are unintelligent enough to respond to three-word slogans and similar shite, then it's no wonder our politics are in disarray. No sensible debate can be held on any subject. It all descends into a football-like argument, my team good, your team wankers.

I'm not sure democracy can be made to work anymore, not while we have a corrupt media run by greedy billionaires and social media that's full of fruit loops, bigots and nazis. As for Farage and his mates, don't make me laugh. They got us into this shit through Brexit and what passed for a debate at that time. A pack of lies and distortions that played on people's ignorance.
Fantastically put.

They can’t win. If they had made payments people would be kicking off about Labour spending and wasting public money.

You can please some of the people all of the time, all of the people some of the time, but you can’t please all of the people all of the time.

Ultimately if you believe it the right thing to do then you face your critics without fear. It’s also ok to say they didn’t deserve it etc etc if you believe that. Being duplicitous (or being seen to be) is not ok.

My personal view is that it is a bit shit for the people who fell through these cracks (my mum is one of them) but in the cold light of day, limited public money is better spent on other things than compensating old boomers.

A lot of people don’t want to hear that, I know.

corrupt media run by greedy billionaires
So much damage done to the country by them, from politics to the reputation of our beloved club. This is where I would start. It is they that dictate how the country 'thinks'. Folk say ah but newspaper circulation is reducing. It doesn't matter as their on line presence is enough. When you double that up with X and other stuff, influenced by other greedy right wing millionaires, then what chance true democracy. The present government were in power 2 minutes and the media were baying for them to resign, even after everything that had happened with the last shower of crooked cunts. I was daft enough to listen to PMQT last week. Jesus it was more childish than a kindergarden play ground.

You yearn for a parliament that actually focuses entirely on the problems of the country and how to fix them and works together for solutions rather than focusing entirely on their bubble and knocking seven bells out of each other.

This is a drum political centrists like myself have been banging for 15 years.

Another unpopular opinion on here no doubt but in my view this country has been in a tailspin of increasing velocity since the day Tony Blair stepped down.

So, anyone who doesn't agree with this absolutely abysmal, inept, corrupt government and sees Farage as a possible change to the current 2 party system are manipulated bellends, typical left wing nam calling, and you prove, why we need the poison that is the left, out of government and out of our lives.

You don’t have to be left wing to think that about those that support Farage to be fair. That’s part of how he’s been able to frame
the debate and bring in Americanisms to our politics. To his followers, seemingly everyone else is left wing now.

I fully get that mate and maybe I’m too much an ideologist but I just hate the idea that justice is only served when it’s deemed affordable … actually no, not affordable, a priority - we know they could “find” the money if they wanted to.

As you say they’ve got bigger priorities than justice.

I’m sure if the country was awash with cash we’d have paid them out, but the harsh reality is we’re not, so the government has to prioritise.

Rightly or wrongly, it’s the way it is.
