Why did it need to be complicated with 1st choice, second choice and multiple transferred votes of the AV system?
PR with a single transferable vote works perfectly fine in Sweden why not the UK ?
But then people don't have their own local MP, which is just as complicated.
The referendum was a huge win for No, and I doubt any format would have got a different result.
Now of course, it might be very different. Reform are of course, fully in favour, so we'd be looking at a campaign which told people that Starmer would be thrown out of No10 the day after the referendum, and everyone would get a cheque for £1000 in the post.
