The Labour Government

He hasn’t though. If he was PM here and you didn’t want him to be, you’d be banging on about egg prices etc.

You’ve got this government until 2029, however many petitions you get behind.
Hasn't what? Cut:-

Winter fuel payments? - he has and he never told us before the election in his manifesto
Increased train drivers wages above inflation? - he has and has added to the national debt to it, wasn't in the manifesto
increased employers NI? - he has and the blatantly inevitable shock effect on employment and prices and the economy is being widely felt by the public and it will continue to be felt for a long time yet.

On your second point we'll have to wait and see, that is just my opinion, the first points are fact.

How come you aren’t annoyed at the price of eggs skyrocketing in the US then? Trump said he’d bring them down and he’s not.

Surely they need another election.

You don’t like what Starmer is doing and are entitled to moan about it.

It won’t get you another election though.

Couldn't give a flying fuck what the price of eggs is in the US, I live here in the UK and I take exception to being misled and lied to.

Starmer (not me) made a great deal about his fully costed manifesto, which never mentioned any of the above. At best it was terrible research, poor preparation and incompetent communication and bad management, at worst it was blatant lies.... take your pick.

Every party who contests the GE has a fully costed manifesto.

Well, not Reform, but they don’t do detail, just moan about everything being shit and telling you that it’s simple to fix it. No details though.

I get it. You’re at the end of your tether. Whoever you vote for will be shit.

Some are shitter than others.

I agree 100% with your latter comments however, before I bid you goodnight I will challenge that Labour had a fully costed manifesto.

The Labour manifesto did not mention any of the points I raised yet I assume they must have known their intentions. Personally I think it is blatant incompetence and lies because had they declared these policies they wouldn't have have got half the votes they did which leads me to think they are brilliant liars and experts in incompetency

Like I say I will say goodnight and maybe we can resume the debate and talk about farmers and inheritance tax another time?

All governments since the dawn of time have deviated away from what their manifesto said.

Each one is judged in what they do in their 5 year term when voters go to the ballot box.

Night Joe.

Because food along with many other things are produced, rightly or wrongly outside the UK. Prices are set by international markets.
If you want to invest in the NHS, Infrastructure, public services etc, you need growth.
We could of course not bother about growth and just tell everyone relying on universal credit, pensions and all public sector workers that we are sorry but you arent getting any more money this year but I somehow dont think that would go down too well.

I'll pick blatant lies, his chancellor is a blatant liar too

Can't see how food production being outside the uk means we need 'growth'. The Uk wastes around 25 tonnes of grub PER DAY.

...... and him doom mongering, talking the country down and getting his excuses for failure in ahead of the game.

The press are only reporting what he's telling us plebs.

I hear there was a chap over the pond that won the US election rather comfortably that is talking his country up, and is doing what he said he would do.... I cannot understand why people are shocked by his actions, they're what he pledged.

I guess we don't like honesty when it means people are doing things we don't like even though it is what was said would be done..

We just need a PM that can cause hate and division, release hundreds of criminals and thugs, that can declare trade wars with its neighbours and blame any tragic event on gays and blacks.

Maybe that’s why Reform are doing well.

At least he’s stopped all wars on day 1.

No, lets start with baby steps shall we like just simply doing what you said you would do and more importantly not doing things you didn't say you'd do.

It's easy and desperate to, in a Labour Government thread, look everywhere/anywhere else to find fault with others and the way they're operating.

Lets stick to talking about Labour here shall we?

I read the other day that if you had saved £10,000 a day for the last 70,000 years (with no interest) you would have less money than Elon Musk.

I’ve since worked it out on my calculator and it’s correct based on £280 billion :-(
I can see a backlash coming for Musk and his business's, more so in the UK and EU than the US. He should have kept his nose out of politics, he's a odious character.
